Scott Maslen sort of drops all his personality in order to play Jack then.

Ooooh, clips! Pumped for the Amy storyline. Make her an icon.

Assuming we can trust anything that comes from that pile of shit, we won’t be seeing her again in EE. Absolutely no loss imo.

The calibre of this episode is fantastic and shows the strong work Diederick and the cast put in. One of the best Christmas storylines ever I think.

Classic Jean, Tanya, Sean, Abi *.*

A living room full of icons at the start of that!

Katie Jarvis aka Hayley Slater called a woman a 'dirty black c***' and allegedly said f*** BLM before fighting with five black girls

eeek I’ve just seen this video over on Digital Spy!

When she was on the show I was kind of in the minority as I really rated her as an actress and I quite liked her character.

I always thought something happened behind the scenes at EE to lead to her very quick departure especially as she was a very prominent character during her time on the show.

Hayley was overused and badly written. She was a woman in her late twenties that got pregnant. This did not warrant the massive screen time.
I liked her on the show but then they went into complete overdrive with her and way way over used her, something def had to happen as to go from getting so much screen time to disappearing makes no sense and its even stranger no real explanation was ever really given.

I’m still really enjoying Eastenders 2008, is anyone else?

I was only in and out of EE at this point as I was in first year of uni with no TV and iplayer had barely begun back then so it’s been great watching it properly. It’s hard to believe Jay was ever that young!

I know there’s revised history now, but with that in mind, wouldn’t Shabnam be already pregnant by now? Knowing what happened later puts an extra punch behind Dawn’s lines to her this week.

I certainly wouldn’t call that episode iconic in slightest. It might have been good at the time but it hasn’t aged all too well in the little 5 and a half years it’s been

Definitely not a classic. The Carters had a great introductory year but that Christmas was overload.

Plus I don’t think Shirley being Mick’s mum was a worth twist. It was Btech Kat/Zoe stuff and it hasn’t developed either character long term.

I feel like if they were going to choose anything from that Christmas it should have been the New Year's Day episode with the car crash and Emma's death

That was where all the excitement was! Not in the Christmas episodes themselves!

Although one could argue that any episode with Mrs Doyle present could be considered a classic.

NYD 2015 had so much more hype and interest than Christmas so agreed, very bizarre to pick that as 'iconic'. I guess since the Carters are still around they had to give them something :')
Babe being kicked out had more effect in that episode than in all the 853799 other times they kicked her out.
