March 4, 20205 yr It's difficult to tell how well Gerry will do. I think he's much more popular and has a far bigger potential reach than recent releases from the likes of Courteeners and Blossoms, which makes me think 30-35k is easily possible, but he will be far less reliant on a physical sale - unsure if whether this works in his favour or not, it certainly will for longevity but maybe not for a one week sale. March 5, 20205 yr Author To be fair, Gerry has done decently on streaming. On Apple Music charts his soon to be released album is currently ahead of Dua Lipas Future Nostalgia. He’s so gonna do it isn’t he :(
March 5, 20205 yr Gerry being strong on streaming might actually be a negative sign for his album sales after what happened with Tame Impala tbh (although I expect Gerry will have more dedicated fans who'd buy the physical album especially on vinyl compared to Tame Impala).
March 5, 20205 yr And of course with Gerry being from here I'm sure he'll be doing album signings, particularly in Scotland.
March 5, 20205 yr Wait Gerry Cinnamon is an actual solo artist!? I genuinely thought he was the guitarist in some famous rock band like (although I know he wasn't a part their group) The Rolling Stones or Genesis etc.. and gone solo or something. I want Gaga to be number 1, but I feel like he's gonna cause an upset (similarly to how Jake Bugg beat Leona that time)
March 15, 20205 yr Author It’s gonna be so annoying if Gaga misses out because her debut sales will be higher than many #1 debuts so far this year. He’s currently back ahead on iTunes pre orders too.
March 15, 20205 yr I think the vinyl sales are only way Gerry can be #1. However, people in Twitter think that the Chromatica release might be postponed due to corona situation.
March 17, 20205 yr I feel like Gaga has this now, 'Stupid Love' has been a success and with the Ari collab supposedly set to drop before the album that should be big.
March 20, 20205 yr Author Gerry’s twitter bio now states he’s releasing April 17 so it’s basically confirmed now that there’s no chart battle. Hallelujah :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Edited March 20, 20205 yr by Jordan Lee
