Just watched two...

'Frozen' 6 out of 10 - Pretty decent film. Obviously low budget, but they did it well I thought. Some parts of the acting were a bit cringey and some scenes were a bit LOL. But it was a part of it's charm, imo. It was still quite tense and gruesome to watch.

'Wolf Creek' 9 out of 10 - Excellent film. One of my favourites I think. Beautifully shot and very well made. Very gruesome and particularly disturbing in most parts. If that's what really happened, then that was some f***ed up $h!t those three people had to go through. Highly recommended by myself.

The aviator - 5/10. Great performance by Cate Blachette

Rocky horror picture show - 4/10. Terribly overated

Transamerica - 7/10

Salt - 6/10. Ok for the first hour but sorta lost focus in the last part of the film.

whoaa sadistic!! hahaa you really like watching people in pain don't you! :P have you seen the saw movies? i'm guessing you have.. if not they'd be right up your street. i think saw is my limit. it's literally the only film i can't actually watch in parts cos of how vile it is. plus the whole idea that it could easilly happen in real life gets me too..

also lee, which romeo and juliet did you get? i've seen the old one but not the leonardo dicapro version. i feel i might be put off by the whole modern day but old language thing.

and david i feel the same about rocky horror. i've seen bits of it but i never could watch it fully cos it just didn't click with me

i've just watched a film called l.i.e. about this young guy and a paedophile that i only watched cos it's supposed to be really sad but i didn't think it was sad at all. the ending was quite shocking but it was about the paedophile and i felt no sympathy towards him so it doesn't really work. unless there was another part that was sad that i totally missed.

gonna watch terms of endearment now cos i feel like watching something that will actually make me cry. at least it better..

Lol. Yeah I do and yes I have. I adore the Saw franchise (even if they d eventually become parodies of themselves after the first 2 or 3.). The horror/horror-thriller genre is definitely my favourite sort of movie. ('Se7en with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman is my favourite film of all time - well behind 'Finding Nemo') I don't know why, I think I just like gore, when it's done right and I like something that can scare me (strangely).

I saw 'Martyrs' the other week, after Daniel II (I think) recommended it in some thread, and my God that's easily one of the most disturbing films I have ever seen. Excellent though.

I bought this too! What a load of old rubbish! Good job it was only £3 or I would have been well vexed. I'd much rather have the 1980's with all the old-fashioned stop-motion animation.

Taken is one of the best films in ages - i recommend unknown aswell when that comes out.

Jake - LDC version ( I just love the film it's brilliant)

ended up crying at terms of endearment as expected. watched rear window too the other night and it was so good. it's an alfred hitchcock film from the 50s about some guy who's in a cast and can't walk so he sits by his window watching what his neighbours do and he thinks one of them has been murdered. it's really interesting how he goes about finding out who did it..

watching one flew over the cuckoo's nest now. halfway through but it's not gripped me so far, i just hoping the next hour gets better. it's also becoming apparent that i can only seem to watch movies during the early hours of the morning when there are no distractions. doesn't help my insomnia one bit :(

ha yeah they really have become crap as they've gone on. i think it didn't help though that the first one was just so immense so it was downhill from there. that ending has gotta be one of the best film endings of all time!

i'm definitely gonna watch se7en, i see it in so many best movie lists and i love morgan freeman. i feel like i may have seen a bit of it once.. is there a bit with a skeleton on a bed and they have to go in and investigate it..? and finding nemo  was obsessed with that, almost had every sticker in the sticker book! :P

i know it's not gory scary but have you seen the strangers? i think that may be the scariest movie i've ever seen (i mean old ones like halloween and nightmare on elm street still freak me out but i think that's cos i grew up with them so it's kind of embedded in my mind as a scary character), the mask's they use in the strangers though.. oh man they creep me out. kinda like that one from valentine! :puke2: i'll pop martyrs down for films to watch as well

Veronika Decides to die - Loved the book and consider it one of my all time favs. The film did the book justice but expected better performances by the actors, especially Sarah Michelle Gellar who can pull of a great dramatic performance at times. 6/10

The imaginarium of doctor parnasius - Heath ledger's last film. A very poor film. Wooden acting. Poor effects. Poor storyline really. At least he died being remembered for his great role as the Joker, not in this trash.

I agree. Easily one of the best endings to a film I've ever seen, personally. Really didn't expect it at all! You really should, phenomenal film. It's the original 'Saw' and you can tell 'Saw' was, somewhat, influenced by it. I haven't seen it in ages though (might watch it now actually! - Before RAW!) but I think so. Yes. 'Finding Nemo' I quote it all the time. It's just brilliant, the animation particularly. Pixar $h!t over Dreamworks, like so bad.

Yes I have. I don't think I liked it. I think I found it boring and didn't think it really went anywhere... Although I do hate the whole mask thing. I think i'll have to revisit it sometime as my tastes have changed quite a bit and have adapted slightly since I last saw it.

recently watched dr strangelove (disappointment) and some like it hot (amazing). also continued my new obsession with jack nicholson and watched the bucket list which got me with the tears and the departed which i thought was good but really dragged on!

i also watched se7en last night and i thought it was really good! i can definitely see how it inspired saw, especially with the whole clues thing and how each murder such an elaborate reason behind it. SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!! plus that ending came right out of left field, certainly didn't think it was gonna be that. had my money on the 2 officers being the last 2 that would die due to the murderer having some bomb timed to go off. and then after the head was revealed i thought her and the baby were the last 2 but then obviously the murderer got shot. but then it still confuses me why the baby didn't count..

btw how do people do those spoiler things when you have to drag your mouse over it to see??

IKR? The location in which the last scene was shot, is very familiar and I see it in loads of music videos and other films now haha. Wasn't Chris Brown & Chipmunk's 'Champion' filmed there? Anyway... Gwyneth Paltrow is a fantastic actress when she really wants to be and I think 'Se7en' shows that excellently. I really do need to see it again soon as I need to refresh my memory on what happens and stuff. Haha.

:D

Eat Love Pray - 6/10. A good movie. Great performance by Julia roberts. Suprised she didn't at least get a Golden globe nom for this film.

The ending annoyed me. Seemed too simple. Which is why it got a 6.

It's the only thing I've seen gywneth in, but I have the same thing with people like brad pitt where it comes to a point where he's so famous for being brangelina and just generally mega famous that you forget he can really act! I watched fight club the other day and he was wicked in that! same with marilyn monroe, I always find it really odd seeing her in films cos I just don't expect it :P like I just see her as marilyn monroe the celebrity.. I dunno.. i can't really explain it properly.. cheers for the spoiler thing btw!

I wont be seeing that any time soon then david! :P I've only heard bad things about it anyway so it's probably best if i do stay clear of it..

best movie I've watched recently is my sister's keeper. The first half I thought was pretty boring but then the last 30 mins it all built up and I cried like a baby!

Closer - Really good movie. Great performance by Natalie portman. Forget her black swan performance, this is the oscar she should of won. A really good movie that examines the after effects of cheating. Also stars Julia Roberts, Clive Owen and Jude Law.

The constant gardener -Really good movie. A compelling and interesting storyline. A top notch oscar winning performance by Rachel weiz.

Looney Tunes - Back In Action

I have seen this movie about 3 times and I have only just realised that the woman in it is Jenna Elfman (Dharma)

This si the sort of movie I love, a simply plot that is easy to understand and enjoy

I love Loony Tunes Back In Action too. Timothy Dalton plays a better villain than he did James Bond. Pity Steve Martin didn't give his a game though or it might have lifted the film a little more.
