November 18, 200618 yr I'll buy Westlife,Beatles and U2 but have voted Oasis for No.1.Midweeks should be very interesting.
November 18, 200618 yr Yeah can't wait.I see the top 2 as Oasis and Beatles.Don't think U2 or Westlife have any chance of No.1.Yes I am a Westlife fan but am realistic too. Will be very surprised if they do it.
November 18, 200618 yr Westlife usually have 150k-200k first week album sales more often than not, but it's a more competitive release week this time, I've gone with Oasis but I think it'll be Westlife, mainly because of christmas shopping mothers.
November 18, 200618 yr Thread cleaned. As Jester says, this is NOT a thread about Westlife so don't turn it into one, and that goes for everyone -_- Any more deliberately argumentative posts on the subject will be removed.
November 18, 200618 yr It would be pretty awesome if none of them made no.1 and an unexpected climb from another artist occured :P or an unexpected release took it. Either way would be rather cool. Really Id much prefer Westlife dont get it but I think all the artists have had their time, not knocking their talent though. Edited November 18, 200618 yr by kitkat03
November 19, 200618 yr At first i was sure Oasis . Now i think beatles. Beatles#1 Oasis#2 I hope U2 do more than $h!tlife!!! Imagine a top 3 of beatles,oasis,u2 (that would be probably the best top3 ever) imo.
November 19, 200618 yr The, drop everything, I'm gonna buy whatever they release as soon as possible brigade, I think would favour least, the Beatles, but I think it'll sell more than the other 3 will between now and Xmas. Okay, okay, I can talk, coz I'm rushing out to buy the Beatles album tommorrow :P Firstly, the easy bit: I think the top 4 in next weeks Album chart will all be new entries. Does night not follow day? The near impossible task is predicting which way around :( Sorry U2, but I think they'll be at #4 I'm gonna be pessimistic and put The Beatles at #3 Westlife, will be close, (but as they say) but no cigar #2 Oasis do have a large dedicated fan base, so Numero Uno for them. Will there be any hype sort of Oasis vs The Beatles this week?
November 19, 200618 yr Actually, does anyone know the first week sales of The Beatles 1 Album? Edited November 19, 200618 yr by Sound-Bite
November 19, 200618 yr Actually, does anyone know the first week sales of The Beatles 1 Album? Over 300k. but not sure of the exact number.
November 19, 200618 yr Over 300k. but not sure of the exact number. Thanks for that. I've just looked at the mids and it looks like George Michael will be #1 today. But with the glut of other big names releasing this week, I think it unlikely, that George will stay within the top 4 of next weeks chart.

Will there be any hype sort of Oasis vs The Beatles this week? well the hype is around Oasis v/s U2 From HMV:- spectacle won't take place in a boxing ring but in record shops, where the two giants of British music are both releasing greatest hits collections. Some of those shops, including HMV, will be aiming to capitalise on what may be the biggest chart battle since Blur and Oasis famously went head-to-head in 1995. "We're going to have enormous images of U2 and Oasis on each side of the door when you walk into our shops," reveals Gennaro Castaldo, HMV's head of publicity. "It will look like a proper face-off."
November 19, 200618 yr The Beatles for number 1  To Be honest, i think the U2 album will flop in their standards, they already have 2 complination albums out  Its between Beatles and Westlife -_-
November 19, 200618 yr I hope it's the Beatles, but I wouldn't write of Westlife. They've done a hell of a lot of promotion, including taking over X Factor last night.
November 19, 200618 yr Author Its between Beatles and Westlife -_- I don't think so at all ^_^ Oasis last album sold something like 250,000 first week, this album will sell far more cause all Oasis's casual fans will buy it. It's a must for all music fans imo. Also Oasis have a huge fanbase anyway. I expect and hope for over 300k ^_^
