I'm not saying the video is BAD per se but....

 

Has Gaga forgotten her own M.O. is literally high-concept, long music videos with plot and drama?

 

This is two in a row now that are just some strung together dance scenes. Which is grand, but once again doesn't feel super modern. This is the official music video and most videos that artists release like that are a promo video or a side promotional tool, like Dua's workout video or recently, Hayley Williams's.

 

Even if she wanted to do that she could have had a bit of frame narrative like Born This Way. She's touted Chromatica as a concept album, honey, what's the concept? The videos are how you draw us in. So far it just seems to be a world where everyone bursts into dance every other second.

Yeah so I lasted ~90 seconds.. When Ariana and Gaga appeared together? Yeah that really hit me hard. I didn't know if they would with the craziness of travelling recently, but it seems like they managed to film it all just in time :wub:

 

What a superb video. My main positive is how perfectly it fits the song. I feel so joyous and empowered. Their friendship is the most beautiful thing ever and the pain they have both faced being literally washed away in these 3 minutes is gorgeous. The final few shots with their embracing were beautiful, but also the slight smiles they give to each other throughout. It's a real bond they have formed and this song has made it happen.

 

I am so so so in love with the entire package. I couldn't have asked for more from them. Do I prefer her story videos? Yes, but this could be her best non-story video to date? :o

 

Also: major YES to them channelling each others' looks. A true union of visions <3
