April 25, 20205 yr great to see 'Children' finish so high, although as Buzzjack's top rated dance tune of all time I suppose that was to be expected.
April 25, 20205 yr Fantastic to see the Eurythmics and Sophie Ellis-Bextor in the top 10. Not so much Robert Miles.
April 25, 20205 yr Author Can we predict top 4? I don't mind if people want to predict or are there others who don't want to know which songs are left? I don't mind either way really.
April 25, 20205 yr I am over the moon to see Children made that high. Best song from the list without any doubts! Well done Buzzjack
April 25, 20205 yr I don't mind if people want to predict or are there others who don't want to know which songs are left? I don't mind either way really. I actually know only 2 songs what's left...can't figure it out what's the other two but the ones I know I am so rooting for them for top 2 :cheer:
April 25, 20205 yr It's actually quite nice not knowing what's remaining. It was a pleasant surprise seeing Murder On The Dancefloor finish as high at #7 - it didn't occur to me it was still in the running. :D
April 25, 20205 yr Wonderwall, Murder On The Dancefloor and Children are all classics and deserve their places in the Top 10. Eurythmics not so much. Ditto, agree with you completely there Mango.
April 26, 20205 yr Murder on the dancefloor is just one of those rare songs that no one hates, plus it taps into a good bit of nostalgia for a lot of this site. Such a memorable music video as well, I remember it being on all the time. Children is one of those timeless classics that will seen as a figurehead of dance music forever. Wonderwall & Sweet Dreams are a tad overrated imo.
April 26, 20205 yr great to see 'Children' finish so high, although as Buzzjack's top rated dance tune of all time I suppose that was to be expected. where can I see the ranking?
April 26, 20205 yr Author 4. Daft Punk - One More Time Average score - 8 Stopped by : Leann Rimes - Can't Fight The Moonlight Top scores : 11 - Chez Wombat,SevenSeize, 10 - Bjork,Jester,Mark223,Uls2000,Jason,jimwatts,Jamie Barkley,Addy,Dobbo,Dexton,dutch22,danG,West,Rush Low score : 3 - Jay1982 This only finished 13th in Ultimate Dance but it does very well here. It's the highest placed song from the 21st Century. It was Daft Punk's third top 10 hit and contains a sample from 'More Spell On You' by Eddie Johns. In 2013,it was voted by readers of Mixmag as the greatest dance record of all time. FGBhQbmPwH8
April 26, 20205 yr Delighted but cannot believe One More Time finished so high! One more of my 1st round nominations left, hope it wins...
April 26, 20205 yr The songs that wasn’t sabotages with low votes are coming out on top Good top 10 tho
April 26, 20205 yr A little surprised given the recency bias elsewhere that none of the top 3 are from the 21st century - I also always think 'One More Time' is older than it actually is for some reason! V good song though of course, not a bad pick for the top post-Y2K song.
April 26, 20205 yr Author 3. Natalie Imbruglia - Torn Average score : 8.082 Stopped by : Aqua - Barbie Girl Top scores : 11 - West,chrissmith276, 10 - Bjork,SamJudd,vibe,Spiceboy,Jester,dandy*,StoneDragon,M4NGO,Alex!,Addy,jra1989,AaronTM Low scores : 1.5 - jimwatts, 2 - jszmiles Torn was written by members of the group Ednaswap. Although they performed it live, the first actual recording of the song was by Lis Sorensen. After leaving Neighbours,Natalie Imbruglia covered the song for her debut single. It's the most played record on Australian radio since 1990,averaging 75 plays a day. It's still played a lot over here as well, recently being listed as one of the top 40 most played songs of the last decade. xSZBIs0gs0E
April 26, 20205 yr I thought One More Time would be number 2 to be honest. Great dance song. I prefer Neck Deep's rendition of Torn to Natalie's original one. :P
April 26, 20205 yr oops if my 1.5 ends up costing Torn 1st place here... I don't think it's a bad song by any means, just one I've heard against my will more often than most.
