There are already quite a lot of these, and it's all the Eurovision community has to talk about right now, so rather than them getting lost in the cancelled thread, how about a tracking thread for artists that are confirmed for returning next year, and perhaps also those that aren't.

Already confirmed (updated to 20th January):

Australia: Montaigne

Austria: Vincent Bueno

Azerbaijan: Efendi

Belgium: Hooverphonic

Bulgaria: Victoria

Czech Republic: Benny Cristo

Georgia: Tornikke Kipiani

Greece: Stefania

Iceland: Daði Freyr

Ireland: Lesley Roy

Israel: Eden

Latvia: Samanta Tina

Malta: Destiny

Moldova: Natalia Gordienko

Netherlands: Jeangu Macrooy

North Macedonia: Vasil

Romania: Roxen

San Marino: Senhit

Serbia: Hurricane

Slovenia: Ana Soklič

Spain: Blas Canto

Switzerland: Gjon's Tears

Ukraine: Go_A

Confirmed to be rerunning the national final, with the 2020 act invited to take part in some cases:

Albania

Croatia

Denmark

Estonia

Finland

Lithuania

Norway

Portugal

Sweden

Confirmed to be going with a different artist:

Albania

Belarus

Croatia

Cyprus

Denmark

France

Germany

Norway

Portugal

All with new songs of course. I think Sweden and Estonia are the only ones who've confirmed that they will be running their NFs again next year with no guarantee for The Mamas and Uku unless I've missed someone.

I hope Efendi can come back with another banger next year. So weird to not have it as Eurovision classic.

And WHAT DO WE DO WITH 2020 in terms of like rankings and stuff?

I *really* hope Daði Freyr and The Roop return! I'd be very surprised if Daði doesn't actually.

Don't know The Roop song but the Daði Freyr entry sounded good on first listen. I hope Little Big return for Russia.

I'm going to include them in playlists and any ranks, they'll just be Eurovision entries without a live performance - which is easy to do as the live performances mostly only exist for me on Eurovision nights.

There's some talk in Iceland about the NF being Daði with a few songs to choose from. RÚV haven't confirmed it but it could be a good compromise seeing as the voting money from Söngvakeppnin pretty much pays for Iceland's participation in Eurovision.
Finland are sticking with their selection (how insulting given they had one-artist multi-song selections in 2018 & 2019 ) as are Norway...and Ulrikke has apparently declined the chance to have an automatic place in the final again

Same for Portugal - but no one's losing any sleep over that one... :kink:

Eden, Roxen and Vincent Bueno join those listed in the opening post as confirmed to be back (not surprising as two of them were internally selected artists, and Israel's "The Next Star" was cancelled going forward before Eurovision was)

Lithuania join fellow Baltic state Estonia in pushing ahead with a selection as normal, and The Roop have been invited to have an automatic place in the final if they wish.

  • 1 month later...

Benny Cristo has been confirmed for Czech Republic, no surprise really given the low-budget online NF that they've used recently. I think that takes us to 14 returning artists so far unless anyone has been missed

I wonder if there's a chance that James Newman gets confirmed during "Eurovision: Come Together" or whether that's being too hopeful

Samanta Tina confirmed!

I think Senhit confirmed she is coming back for San Marino too during her clip tonight?

I heard Graham Norton say Ireland are not coming back next year, mind you after hearing 30 seconds of her song, did sound like a wasted effort. I certainly won't miss her. :magic:
Ana Soklič confirmed for Slovenia next year, here's hoping it'll be with a song people actually like this time xx
