Posted April 1, 20205 yr Mike Skinner posted a video of a possibly upcoming collaboration with Tame Impala - it does scream April Fools' joke but the NME are reporting that "Although the timing of the post could be mistaken for an elaborate April Fool’s, a representative for The Streets has confirmed the song’s authenticity to NME." So I'm going to keep a little bit of hope. :P Real or not, it's sounding interesting from the clip! View this post on Instagram
April 1, 20205 yr Author This is looking a lot more likely to be real! Someone found an interview from Mike Skinner late last year saying Kevin was interested in collaborating for The Streets' new EP (who Mike was also trying to get IDLES and slowthai on).
April 13, 20205 yr Author A collaborations album titled 'None of Us Are Getting Out of This Life Alive' from The Streets has been announced for July 10th - 'Call My Phone Thinking I'm Doing Nothing Better' with Tame Impala is out now! wsqz0kI255E Tracklisting: (so hyped for the IDLES collab) 1. Call My Phone Thinking I’m Doing Nothing Better (ft. Tame Impala) 2. None Of Us Are Getting Out Of This Life Alive (ft. IDLES) 3. I Wish You Loved You As Much As You Love Him (ft. Donae’O and Greentea Peng) 4. You Can’t Afford Me (ft. Ms Banks) 5. I Know Something You Did (ft. Jesse James Solomon) 6. Eskimo Ice (ft. Kasien) 7. Phone Is Always In My Hand (ft. Dapz on the Map) 8. The Poison I Take Hoping You Will Suffer (ft. Oscar #Worldpeace) 9. Same Direction (ft. Jimothy Lacoste) 10. Falling Down (ft. Hak Baker) 11. Conspiracy Theory Freestyle (ft. Rob Harvey) 12. Take Me As I Am (with Chris Lorenzo)
April 13, 20205 yr Author Yeah I'm not into the UK rap scene, so I'm interested to hear some artists that are better than the ones in the charts! I do know Jimothy Lacoste though, he's worth checking out. Kinda like indie spoken-word.
April 13, 20205 yr The Streets are one of my all-time favourite artists so I'm incredibly hyped for a new album. A Grand Don't Come For Free is in my top 5 albums ever.
April 14, 20205 yr Author 'Take Me as I Am' released in October as a single from Chris Lorenzo's album 'Late Checkout' - still a banger! uNWXwgYuKL8
April 14, 20205 yr The Tame Impala collab is not what I was expecting! The Streets name sounds like some indie band so I was took by surprise
May 8, 20205 yr Author 'Where The F*&K Did April Go' is out today! It has the album artwork but isn't on the tracklist so I'm guessing it's just a bonus thing. Really enjoying it though! NvM87-hi8p4
June 4, 20205 yr Author 'I Wish You Loved You As Much As You Love Him' (ft. Donae’O and Greentea Peng) out now, I like it but it's definitely my least favourite of the 3. G0c8rCCXCkQ
June 25, 20205 yr 'Falling Down' is the slower track and it's brillant as well, pretty hyped now for this return I have to say!
June 26, 20205 yr 'Where The F*&K Did April Go' is out today! It has the album artwork but isn't on the tracklist so I'm guessing it's just a bonus thing. Really enjoying it though! NvM87-hi8p4 I couldn’t find this track on the album either. He has released the song as a 2 track digital single paired with the collaboration with Tame Impala.
June 26, 20205 yr It’s a track about lockdown though, not for the album. Love the lyrics as always. Loving everything from this so far, didn’t think I’d be this excited for an album from The Streets in 2020. Edited June 26, 20205 yr by Cremey
July 10, 20205 yr I just gave this its first spin there and it sounds up there with the first two albums, some fantastic songs on there especially the last song on the album with Chris Lorenzo!
July 12, 20205 yr Author This was a pleasant surprise overall! The singles I wasn't much of a fan of sounded a lot better in the album context, my favourites are the collabs with IDLES, Dapz on the Map, Robert Harvey and Chris Lorenzo.
July 16, 20205 yr Checked out a few of the album tracks from this and I am really liking 'The Poison I Take Hoping You Will Suffer', gives me pretty similar vibes to 'Blinded By The Lights' which is my favourite song from him. Most of the other stuff here isn't really up to the same quality as his older material (though I did enjoy the Tame Impala collab), good for him that he's managed to come back after so long and still have enough of a fanbase to get a top 2 album on pretty respectable sales though.
