The British people are already making their feelings clear about the British media by the falling sales and falling viewership in the mainstream news, this non-story and all out harassment on Dom Cummings will drive the British people away for them even more.

 

The mainstream media have less and less influence year-on-year, and I can't wait when it eventually becomes zero influence.

The media always get things wrong, Brexit, Trump, 2nd referendum, etc. The media are out of touch with the British people and we (well normal people) do not listen to them anymore, the mainstream media in the UK is a London upper middle-class bubble.

 

So if the British people are not listening to our media, they don't have any power. So what are they for anymore? Instead what the media should do is just go back to reporting the hard facts, however boring it might be for them, instead of these silly games and witch-hunts.

Dom Cummings is the only one coming out of this with dignity and class, the level of harassment from the British media is DISGUSTING. Like I said before, the British mainstream media are burying themselves.

I notice you haven't addressed a single one of the points made above. I assume you are expecting a job in the next government reshuffle (unless you are Michael Gove).

Boris Johnson's problem is that if keeps Cummings he could destroy trust in his government in a national emergency. But if he sacks him he and half his Cabinet who were forced to back him yesterday and caved in feebly will look pathetic. Tough one.

For a start, Dominic Cummings does NOT deny that he drove 264 miles to a property near his parents house after he and his wife displayed symptoms of Covid-19, thus directly contravening the legal instructions for the general public that he had a role in deciding to implement. What say you about these FACTS ?

Bit revisionist, right? The media was pretty divided among ideological lines for all of those. And the ones that lost don't even mind because they lost to a bit of false populism, meaning they can rake in a lot of cash from railing against it as they aim to restore the liberal status quo. Meanwhile the ones that won have been disgustingly euphoric ever since. But again, that's not the point, because people still get their news and their worldview from their favoured paper or news site for the most part!

 

And the hard facts in this case was that a senior civil servant broke lockdown rules when he should have been following the set government strategy to the letter, and his example sets an incredibly dangerous precedent for being able to control it. So there's no witch hunt here, you should be pretty happy with that.

 

If there actually was an awoken consciousness among the British people in general, we certainly would not be seeing it manifest in the odd crank spouting off online that someday, somehow, the evil media will pay.

In exceptional circumstances to protect his child. Morally that is the right thing to do, what are you, the Stasi. And also Dom still abided by the lockdown rules because of the exceptional circumstance he was in.

The media wasn't divided at all on this, they all thought Brexit wasn't going to happen, they all laughed at the idea of Trump becoming President, they were all calling for a 2nd referendum.

So to protect his child, he put him in a car in close proximity to two people who already had or were developing symptoms of Covid-19 and then drove for over 4 hours? MAKES A LOT OF SENSE THAT.
