Overall, after seeing all the tracks, I added Armenia and Australia into the mix along with Norway and Lithuania, its a shame those tracks won't be appearing next year, as they really stood out for me, and they won't come close next year. I know Lithuania was bit quirky in places clearly my favourite, but it works within the track, on well, just hope Lithuania pull out another great track next year as they have a good track record to almost winning the competition in the past.

Montaigne that is representing Australia is a really good shout, as I used the artist in BJSC at one point with I'm A Fantastic Wreck

With Iceland that was one of the favourites to win... really, the band look as if they were bored stiff and lifeless when they were performing.

I think you may be thinking of Bulgaria? Czechia have only qualified 3 times in their entire Eurovision career and only top 10 once :P

I think it's really disappointing that this show is the only real opportunity of listening to this year's for some people and that the songs get played for 20 or 30 seconds.

We had our own Eurovision last night and I was going to catch up with this today but by the comments in this thread and Twitter, I don't think I'll bother.

Oh Mikey lmao Czechia and Lithuania with good track records :’)

Y’all, was this show worse than Junior Eurovision?? Important question as it will decide if I watch it~

in the UK or worldwide?

UK.

Bear in mind Eurovision normally gets around 6-7 million.

In Germany it was 1.64 mio but it didn't air live, it was a repeat lead-out to Germany's own final that got 3.12 mio viewers.
Belgium are going under fire on Social Media as Alex from Hooverphonic refused to let the band cover Love Shine A Light because he thinks the song is rubbish

The irony when our song is absolutely tragic lmao

I really liked the show. iIt obviously wasn't true eurovision, but it was a very nice tribute to what would've been an amazing show

Have to say I think it’s really pathetic by Belgium. Do you honestly think that bands like The Roop, Little Big, the Icelandic group, the guy from Georgia would usually sing these type of songs? Of course not, but they realised this was not about that and it was about bringing a continent together in these tough times. Hope they crash and burn next year(also their song this years was pants)

Entirely agree. I saw someone say either on Twitter or another forum that they hope the EBU remember this next year when deciding Hooverphonic's position in the running order next year

That's if the Belgian broadcaster doesn't withdraw the offer to carry the band over. Here's hoping they do!

I don't really understand the logic behind that decision from Belgium? All they'd have to do is sing a line or two from a song that isn't their favourite and be done with it. It's not like Love Shine A Light stands for something much worse or is in bad taste in anyway  Just comes across as snooty and is not a hill worth dying on!
Bad call by Belgium as i thought the cover of love shine a light was very moving especially with everything thats going on.

To be fair it wasn't Belgium's decision, it was the frontman of the band :kink:

You sadly can't force someone to sing a song

Using Belgium and their lead singer synonymously here. No intention to taint the rest of the nation of Belgium!
