pop really cannot compete with urban when the main pop playlist hinders songs instead of helping them

OMG this. Number 1 on HH and we've been talking with at least 50k more daily, and he's the one that get supported there.

Anyway yeah, number 2 this week. Bad luck for her that the number 1 doing 600 daily, a few weeks ago she would have been number 1 easily.

Rain on Me is No1 and gained 200,000 streams today. Surely they should stay No1 if they can maintain those figures on Friday's chart
Incredible numbers for Chromatica! Who knew she had it in her to be a streaming force when the tide shifted away from downloads. Seems like A Star is Born wasn't a streaming fluke, and she really is on top of her game again!

! 'Rain On Me' cliching that #1 Spotify peak by the slimmest of margins :cheeseblock: With less of a lead from sales and video streams to rely on this week it may be difficult for it to stay #1 overall but I don't think it's impossible, bear in mind its lead at #1 was pretty stable throughout last week and I believe it actually grew slightly from the last mids to the final chart! Fantastic showing from the 'Chromatica' album tracks overall, would never have predicted her managing to get all but one song into the top 40. Will be listening to the album later today so here's hoping the quality will live up to this success it's having :magic: x

 

The Tion Wayne song seems to be catching some significant social media attention for Stormzy's verse apparently being a diss towards Chip so not surprised to see it doing so well, coming to finally give Tion his first top 40 hit as the primary artist after several successful features (he was technically a joint lead artist on 'Keisha & Becky' but that was clearly a Russ song).

 

#68 debut for ROSALÍA is fantastic :wub: (seems to be continuing a recent trend of everything Travis Scott is involved in doing much better on Spotify than Apple), especially considering there are 13 Gaga songs ahead of it that won't be eligible for the chart. Hopefully this should mean she's safely looking at a top 100 debut.

It is, 'Shallow' peaked at #2 for 4 days and it appears 'Sour Candy' today may actually be her third highest peaking song as 'Stupid Love' peaked at #6. ('Applause' has a peak of #6 in weekly Spotify charts but Kworb doesn't break down daily positions that many years back so that quite possibly also had at least one day in the top 5).

Ties happen a bunch in lower positions and more often in smaller countries (there are 4 on Bolivia's latest chart) and Spotify will just list one above the other based on some arbitrary ruling (I've never tried to work it out) as if there is no tie, so the same would happen at #1 & #2 I imagine.

'1000 Doves' is the only Gaga track to miss the top 40, at #46. 'Chromatica III' is ineligible as it's only 28 seconds long.

I'm not a Kygo fan but sorely tempted to listen to the album with the features!
Yes, but without those it would have been #2.

And why would only ROM have zero pure sales? Even if only 11% of this week's pure sales were sold, ROM would still be number #1. :angel:

My reply was to a post stating that ROM didn’t need those iTunes sales, when in fact in did, otherwise it would have been #2.

^but what we were saying was that it was the combined iTunes + Youtube streams that was decisive

streams alone wouldn't have been enough

this week she doesn't have the itunes+YT factor anymore
