It's not even dated in a bad way tbh. It's a classic! And I doubt many of the other forums will be able to send a song for this round as massive as this.

I mean Holiday is a big hit and it was a single so for me it is borderline fitting the theme if I am honest!!!

 

What about an album track from COADF :teresa:

 

1. Forbidden Love

2. Isaac

3. Future Lover

 

I would die and support any of those!!!

How did 'Holiday' never have a video :o Especially given it was released in the UK 3 times!

Originally it was made a single after radio picked up on it and supported it, so no music video had been planned. In 1985, it was re-released to take advantage of the huge success Madonna was achieving and the 1991 re-release was an EP in which 'Holiday' was the leading track.

I see, thanks. Would've thought they'd have at least thrown together a live video or something to promote the later releases though!

 

The solid gold performance was used for the video because the original was terrible and not released. However somehow it leaked a few years ago.

I was today years old when I found out Holiday had no music video!!!

 

 

I think it’s a genius choice. A huge single against album tracks works well. It would’ve been tricky going with an album track too as certain people stan certain eras of hers and others stan different eras. Kind of a pro and a con of her being so versatile.

The discussion in AF Idol today has been posters not being aware that Holiday was actually Madonna's :o She is discovering new listeners over 30 years later :lol:
