shame sophies had no success with it as it was fine as a single and i liked her loves unkind version aswell

 

I remember buying the 12” of ‘Loves Unkind’ and seeing her on TOTP - I loved her and then she disappeared as soon as she arrived :lol:

It’s a really good song and songs like this, enjoy yourself and over dreaming over you always go together for me.

Both are so excellent.

Track 6 - The World Still Turns

it took me ages to get my hands on the 7 inch of it

The World Still Turns is often singled out as a low point on the album which I disagree with.

 

Good quality ballad that has it's very own place on the album and gives a little rest to the album before some more well crafted pop songs.

I like a kylie ballad and enjoy this, its not her best ballad however.

 

Parlophone did much better ballads than SAW.

 

Because the album has so many brill tracks this kinda falls into one of the weaker tracks on the album but on an album like kiss me once this would be in the strong songs

This reminds me of some of the better parts of ‘Let’s Get To It’ and was definitely Kylie finding her sound - I also don’t think an updated version would have sounded out of place on KM94. PWL were such great songwriters.

Parlophone had amazing ballads with Kylie.

def so, they generally had all brilliant ones

 

id still love a best of the ballads album from kylie but it will never happen and prob wouldnt be very successful.

Track 7 - Shocked

 

The 4th and final single to be released from the album (although it was heavily remixed from the album version) - achieved Top 10 in UK, Finland, Ireland & Australia

Shocked, the final single from the album and a single full of quality.

 

This in addition to the previous singles from the album assured Kylie of long term success and helped attract further credibility which had been building right from the start of this era.

This comes at the right time on the album after the ballad the world still turns.

The closest we’re going to get is Abbey Road!

Shocked is and was always my least fave of the 4 singles from the album and I still prefer always find the time and things can only get better to it but it works really good as single and I do really like it.

Shocked gets it's fair share of glory from Kylie in her live platforms.

The singles are all so different but yet they all showcase really well what the album is about.
