As a package though the whole album works for me. I always enjoyed this album but love it even more now as I've listened to it alot in the last while. After years of preferring rhythm of love I def prefer enjoy yourself more now but still love ROL aswell.

On Enjoy Yourself, the ballads are the weaker elements of the album but, remain likeable.

The ballads however, make the uptempo songs really shine.

The ballads mix through the album nicely, its standard that kylie has a ballad or 2 on her albums. The ballads in the later years though are far far better than the SAW ballads.

Because they're so terrible

I don't mind the ballads, I'd never listen to them out of choice but they don't disrupt the album experience as much as I'd expect. I think because they're so short I just view them as 'interludes'.

So I am listening to this album for the first time.

It’s not great is it lol

What came first Sonia’s INSLY or I’m Over Dreaming ? They are the same 😉

TOMP which I haven’t played in years I really enjoyed. This should be the last track on the album.

Heaven and Earth is listenable

Enjoy Yourself should open the album. I think I enjoyed this over the other singles!

If i didn’t mention a track it’s because it’s not worth mentioning.

I welcome your praise of the title track but largely have the opposite opinion on the album overall.

It is one of my most highly regarded Kylie albums.

Geat songs aplenty, and big hits.

So I am listening to this album for the first time.

disappointed you are not impressed with the album as its always been a face of mine as overall i like almost everything on the album. What song is INSLY from Sonia, im trying to work out which it is?

I’ll never stop loving you, did she have any others 😉
Ah i was getting confused as i thought it might be that but its called You'll Never stop from loving you it was the I that was throwing me, sonia had a few hits to be fair and i think her debut album is really good, not as good as enjoy yourself but still very good, i think sonia track came first but there wouldnt have been a huge gap between them either.

Listening to this today :magic: It's really not a favourite of mine :( Even the best song on the album for me is FAR from being magic. I find it lacks the charm of the debut and the memorable hooks. It's cute enough, and a nice listen but not going to be a favourite of mine.

1. Hand On Your Heart

2. Never Too Late

3. Wouldn't Change a Thing

4. I'm Over Dreaming (Over You)

5. Nothing to Lose

6. Tears On My Pillow

7. Heaven and Earth

8. Enjoy Yourself

9. My Secret Heart

10. Tell Tale Signs

Im so the opposite i think its full of memorable hooks and has equally if not more charm than her debut, our tastes are obviously so dif as im over dreaming over you and enjoy yourself are 2 of my ultimate kylie songs and rank far higher than many of her singles.

I'm the same as Feel the Fever, I think the high points of the album feel stronger than her debut and definitely has more charm. The ballads do drag it down slightly but they're passable and do allow Kylie use her voice a bit more. 'Never Too Late' is my favourite Kylie song of the 80s and 'I'm Over Dreaming (Over You)' is one of her best album tracks of her PWL years.

I think you'll like 'Rhythm of Love' though, it's generally regarded as her best album with PWL! The strength of the songs takes another step up and resembles the more dance-influenced sound we associate with Kylie in later years, plus there's lots of personality to it.

It's so interesting reading that this is generally better received than the debut. Even just looking at the tracklists of the two, the debut seems to consistently decent (with some good and great moments) whereas this is decent with some good. I have listened to the debut a fair bit more than this, so I'll keep listening to this and see if it grows in my affections!
