If the vinyl of Impossible Princess goes ahead do you believe it could happen later this year?

Later this year would be the best time now that SBIT is out of the way and the new album is being worked on.

I keep trying to convince myself that BMG are working on an epic re-issue and want to release it at the right time so it doesn’t impact any of Kylie’s current projects but probably just wishful thinking

I believe later this year is also the right time.

Many of us expect new material to arrive next year so a release of this much craved for vinyl would fill the gap.

It would be lovely to have it to look forward to, we should start emailing BMG badgering for it to happen.

Ya i cant see any new material until mid 2021 so this would keep me going, its something i really want to have, out of interest have many of here got the cassette version of the album and if so was the 3d style cover ever available in the cassette format? Also if they release the vinyl would you prefer the 3d style image of the regular image to be used for the vinyl?

I’ve got a few international cassettes and the Japanese promo boxset that included a cassette too, none have the 3D cover - it was for the CD release only. I’ve also got the UK promo cassette - just a plain white cover with the track names on it, they really gave up with promo releases for IP - the ‘Breathe’ promo CD doesn’t even have a front cover. One of my favourite items I have through is the withdrawn promo UK CD in a card sleeve that lists the album title as ‘Impossible Princess’ before it got scrapped.

The album cover will look ICONIC on vinyl

I think it will def look iconic on vinyl, i would love love the 3d image on the vinyl, but ideally they would use both, the original and the 3d, one for the back and one for the front.

The artwork on both the standard and 3D editions are among her best.

The artwork will stand out beautifully on the vinyl cover, more so ,than on previous formats.

There would be many fans who we know would purchase both on release and with time.

That said, just getting a vinyl release is the priority.

If the vinyl gets released would it be listed as new entry in the charts?

Technically, under the name Impossible Princess, the album never had a chart placement.

The album was listed as Kylie Minogue.

Good question, I never thought of it that way,, actually has happened before does anyone know? It could end up getting registered as a brand new entry.

If listed as "new" sales would therefore not be combined.

I would prefer the sales to be combined to the existing sales achieved.

They should have re-released it this week - it would be a #1 album with only 7k or so of sales needed
Ya that would have been ideal as at worst it would have went top 3 this week and possibly number 1.

A Number 1 for the album would be an incredible moment for Kylie, the album and fans.

Had this situation occured this week, it would have brought 2 negative outcomes in the process.

Lowest weekly sale in history for a Number 1 and likely followed by the biggest drop from Number 1 as there would be a very low number of sales on the follow up week.

I'd take that if it meant the album going number 1 but I think if it went number 1 it would draw attention to the album and some casuals would check the album out.

It would attract press attention which would turn in sales too.

It hasn't happened so we will never know, the hope for the vinyl continues on.

With the vinyl itself what would be best colour they could go with?

I hate coloured vinyl - I only buy them to collect and keep sealed as the sound quality is usually sub-par and some of them can be quite garish tbh. If/when we get a release I’m sure we’ll get a coloured vinyl but I hope they also press a standard black vinyl too.

A picture disc would look great of IP, if they done a coloured disc it would need to be quite dark to fit in with the album artwork and style.

A light tone of blue would be a nice vinyl if using the tone of blue from the artwork.
