May 14, 20205 yr Author Did the Christmas release help Love and Kisses return to the chart? It was quite a novelty back then to re-issue albums as deluxe or expanded editions. By some standards MCA did a decent job with ‘Love & Kisses And....’ and they even gave the album a slightly different sleeve. It didn’t do great but did give it another 6 weeks Top 75 (62-65-66-68-64-51).
May 14, 20205 yr It was worth doing then as back then sales in those positions were probably higher than what is getting top 10 right now.
May 14, 20205 yr Author It was worth doing then as back then sales in those positions were probably higher than what is getting top 10 right now. Exactly - especially over the Christmas period she could have been pulling in 5k for those!
May 14, 20205 yr Sales of those quantities would be great for Dannii to achieve now, should she decide to gift us with another album.
May 15, 20205 yr Ya in todays charts those sales on a few weeks would be a safe top 10. Surprising there was no unused songs added to the expanded edition.
May 15, 20205 yr The trio of Party Jam / Attitude / Work is iconic - so many so-bad-it's-good lyrics to quote from. Plus, they're funky too. :funky:

May 15, 20205 yr I love this album. I used to run home from school and play it everyday in Cassette and then watch Dannii in Home And Away where I fell in love with her. Thank god the remixes the singles and added tracks for the UK tho. IMO it’s better than Kylie’s debut. I guess Albums like this if you grew up with them you appreciate. I wonder if new listeners can get into it? Best Album Tracks So Hard To Forget Call To Your Heart True Lovers
May 15, 20205 yr I haven't listened to this in about a decade, but I've never liked it each time I've tried. 'Party Jam' is terrible in a totally iconic way though.

I wonder if new listeners can get into it? Best Album Tracks So Hard To Forget Call To Your Heart True Lovers I think this is strictly an album you probably had to grow up with or discovered at the time to appreciate it now  If this was someone’s first introduction to Dannii now I’m not sure they would ever listen to her again :kink:
May 15, 20205 yr Def an album you had to grow up with to even slightly like it now, thevsongs including the singles never floated my boat. The music here totally put me off dannii for a long long time but I did find my way back to dannii in later years although I still skip these songs.
May 15, 20205 yr i struggle to see how kylie fans from the start dislike this but love her debut ? maybe im biased but id rather listen to the singles off this than the singles off Kylie i know we shouldnt compare Edited May 15, 20205 yr by vibe
May 15, 20205 yr I think the songs are chalk and cheese, for me the best on love and kisses is weaker than the lower end on kylies debut. There is nothing memorable about the music on love and kisses, I hate saying it but love and kisses material sounds really cheap and forgettable where many of the songs from kylies debut are memorable and have stood the test of time. I always think that dannii starting with such poor material killed her chances of really building a successful music career.
May 15, 20205 yr Dannii worked with american producers/writers that were well regarded. I played JTTB to a friend a minute a go , he thought it was Kylie and done by PWL haha.
May 15, 20205 yr Author The re-release album increased another 30,000 sales apparently I love that they bothered to give us expanded re-issued versions  I don’t often listen to the album from start to finish but the singles are BOPS! Still remember collecting the 7” picture disc vinyls for each release.
