Posted November 23, 200618 yr :P only kidding TOTP returns for Christmas special Source: Music Week Axed BBC chart show Top Of The Pops is returning for a one-hour television special, to be screened on Christmas Day on BBC One. The show, scheduled for early afternoon, will be presented by Fearne Cotton, Edith Bowman and Reggie Yates, and will count down the year’s biggest-sellers to reveal the Christmas number one. Acts confirmed for the show include The Killers, Scissor Sisters, Razorlight and Gnarls Barkley. A BBC spokesperson says, “We’re doing it because the Christmas show is such an institution – Christmas day wouldn’t be the same without it. But we have no plans to revive the weekly show.†The veteran BBC music programme, which called it a day in September after more than 42 years on air, had been haemorrhaging viewers since switching channels last July from BBC1 to BBC2, pulling in around 1m viewers each episode. Sister programme TOTP2 has been running from September 30 with Steve Wright, and runs until Christmas. The BBC will also screening hit US film High School Musical during the festive season
November 23, 200618 yr Well we knew there would be a christmas special anyway, so it's not exactly a surprise. It's only the weekly show that was axed.

November 24, 200618 yr I think they will. I hope they get a lot of new performances, and not just rely on stuff they filmed before.

November 25, 200618 yr It's very good that it's on Xmas Day. It just wouldn't be the same and it would feel weird tbh if it was missing from the schedules.
