I've just looked up his twitter and he literally has 302 followers so his promo surely can't be the sole reason for the boost? (and Gracey only has 3.5k followers). if he gets a top 10 he surely must be the first to do so with so less than 500 (or even a thousand) followers in recent memory.

 

(Regard who's also looking to go top 10 also has very few followers with 1.4k)

Regard I'm pretty sure was in the 100s when Ride It charted here as I remember checking :lol:

 

However though 220 Kid has 9.8k on insta, and Gracey has 23k there.

It's quite nice to see more previously unknown acts charting recently, TikTok is massively helping with that admittedly but it does feel like there have been a lot of fresh names in the chart recently. At the start of the streaming era in the charts up to about a year ago, a lot of the time it felt to me like much of the top 10 was reserved solely for existing superstars from the prior 5-10 years, and new acts were barely breaking through, whereas looking at the official top 10 at the moment it's really only Gaga/Ariana, Drake and The Weeknd that have been around for a long time.
