June 23, 20205 yr :wub: I'm really thrilled about Spice Girls coming third! I never expected them to make it this far. As early as Round 6 I had us down as being in great danger :kink: (that was when we sent Melanie C - Who I Am). So I kept being pleasantly surprised each time we survived. Even in Round 15 I was shocked and happy to see that quite a significant number of people were voting Love Thing. Thank you to everybody who voted for Spice Girls along the way, and to those who contributed to our discussion thread. It was a lot of fun! I'm really glad that some of you made some discoveries with certain songs too! If Spice Girls had dark horsed themselves into the final: Rush is right (to an extent!) in having expected the song choice to be 2 Become 1. At the very start of the AF Idol competition, the mods planned our final round song to be Spice Up Your Life. However, midway through the contest we concluded that there was such a small chance that we'd actually make it that far that we really ought to send Spice Up Your Life earlier (it ended up being our free choice in Round 12). 2 Become 1 got relegated to being the final song, i.e. "unlikely to be used". :kink: However, yesterday Spiceboy joked that if we against all odds actually made it to the final, then we should actually send 'Goodbye'... us essentially saying "goodbye" to the contest, because there would have been no chance of winning! :lol: ~ Congratulations to Lady Gaga and Rihanna and their artist mods for making it to the final! :dance: You've done incredibly well, and sent so many excellent songs along the way. This is shaping up to be quite a battle, and I'm very excited to see what happens! I think it could be very closely fought.
