What?! How?! Haha, it would’ve climbed 20 places without the new releases! Was that just the Hot Hits position? Insane.

 

It’s a shame that just now it started dropping on Apple Music. Hopefully if the video is released on Monday it pushes it back up.

 

Does the remix count separately for streaming on the charts? Was that really just the solo version?

^it's not on Today's top hits, the 2nd most important playlist after HH...

They really need to release the video ASAP. It could seriously reach a new peak if they don’t leave it too late, most likely low top 15 tbf. Although that might just be me hoping for too much :lol:

 

Let’s hope it actually is being released on Monday!

No, it’s not. It’s been high on a few playlists for a few weeks, but nothing was happening. It was pushed down on most of them the week after release and yesterday it was moved up to the zone that actually makes Hot Hits have some sort of impact, so it was definitely the Hot Hits positioning. What we’re not going to do is overlook that jump as if it was bound to happen when everything prior to yesterday pointed in a different way. It can stall there or even drop but I don’t think anyone expected this much of a difference because of Hot Hits, as this never happened to Break Up Song.

 

I saw your reply the other days saying they had “insane Spotify support going into its third week” and honestly just because they have decent Spotify support and a few high placements it does not make it insane, they’re not in the playlist that makes the most impact and most acts that are as big as them (even if they’re not as big anymore) get similar or better Spotify support. It’s not on any Hot Hits besides the UK, it’s basicaly just in the same playlists to which Break Up Song and Bounce Back were added, difference being that they were dropped after a week or two and this wasn’t.

Again, a similar chart trajectory, but it's now at the level 'Break Up Song' was at this point. Hopefully its playlisting and the hot weather can see it make further increases. Worth pointing out that 'Break Up Song' continued its consistent chart run, it never got back up to its peak in following weeks.

Yeah outside the U.K. it really isn't on many big playlists. On Apple Music that doesn't matter so much as global playlists aren't advertised / accessible. But Spotify is soooo influenced by WW playlists.
Looking at Break Up Song’s run on Spotify we can see that it never had a +50k update like this had today, so it is a bit encouraging, but I’ll keep my expectations low, ha.

For a song on its third week and at #30 in the charts, it’s incredible its top 10 on HHUK and high on summer hits as well as #1 on Pop List. It’s U.K. playlisting support is really impressive considering worldwide artists struggle to be anywhere near top 10 on its third week on Spotify

It’s being heavily pushed on so many playlists now, it’s being pushed far more than BUS because it’s on nearly every important Uk playlist.

 

Also up to #26 on Amazon.

I don’t think the video is coming tomorrow anymore, surely they would of announced it by now?

Probably go with a friday release video again...

 

I'm guessing they are full aware of maximizing avoiding ACR so delaying the video might help it in the long run, gaining a bit of momentum.

 

I feel with LM they need to do everything possible to avoid ACR, that's the issue with artists with a huge fanbase always at risk of having really short chart runs which isn't all that helpful.

175k streams is honestly so impressive. I thinks that’s even higher than the UK streams the song debuted with!

 

I’m hoping it gets placed higher on Apple playlists very soon and starts to climb there again as this song could potentially get a new peak if their team times everything correctly!

I get that some people are keen to get the video out now to potentially increase their peak sooner rather than later, but I agree with the labels approach of keeping it back a bit. The charts have changed SO much and to keep songs on "Hot Hits" playlists and alike that count, it has to remain stable and preferably avoid ACR. Longevity is a much better route to go because as soon as it hits that peak it's going to disappear. The video can wait.

It's hard to know what to do because I do feel that if we get bad weather it will just drop like a stone.

 

 

I wouldn’t rule out the video tomorrow just yet. I see them announcing it between 4-8 PM today. They don’t need much time in advance.

 

I was checking the forecast for the next few days and it seems it’ll be rainy for most of them, including the weekend :/ hopefully that doesn’t cause a big drop. I expect it to drop but maybe Hot Hits can keep it high-ish?

 

After climbing 16 spots to #47 on Spotify Ireland yesterday it climbed another 17 spots to #30 today! Also a new peak!

Excellent news that they're back in the top 30! :D

 

The weather could affect it but hopefully not too much! We shall see. Being top 10 on HHUK helps.
