July 6, 20206 yr Mabel will probably continue adding all her new singles to this album even after she releases a second album at this rate tbh xx Just occurred to me that 'Ego Death' will also be the first top 40 hit for FKA twigs if it hangs on *.* (I think her only previous top 100 appearance was scraping #99 featuring on A$AP Rocky's 'Fukk Sleep').
July 6, 20206 yr Sales are added with the updates, some extra Pop Smoke single sales as well courtesy from Music Week. And guys please be aware as I've noticed some members keep on asking for positions outside the top 40 each week, please read the notes in the opening post before requesting.
July 6, 20206 yr In fairness, it's looking like having a pretty similar initial chart run to all of her previous albums. The previous three all only had 2 weeks top 40 to begin with ('Devotion' went 5-29-66, 'Tough Love' went 9-25-53 and 'Glasshouse' went 7-34-81) with 'Tough Love' being the only one that later re-entered adding an additional 2 weeks. Albums with very limited streaming presence pretty much never last very long on the charts outside of legacy artists and even then usually only in Q4. Most of the people who'd buy the album buy it in the first week, it's only natural. It's still a great achievement for her that she managed to get her highest charting album to date despite not getting any top 100 hit singles this time. totally agree, she’s mostly a fan based artist, her music will not get the recognition it deserves, and even though her new album is her most pop(commercial) album to date, with commercial disco electro songs like Spotlight, Whats your pleasure, Mirage, Soul control etc.... it failed to get the general audience interested, its probably due to the lack of airplay and promotion on streaming platforms, not mentioning the epidemic factor in and lack of live performances...
July 6, 20206 yr Pop Smoke nearly 5k ahead of Bob Dylan, should be pretty secure indeed then (especially as his streaming has been holding up pretty well). I imagine he'll be closer to #1 at the end of the week than he is now but he's not going to make up an 11k gap. Juice WRLD's posthumous album is out next week, on paper he's a bigger artist than Pop Smoke so could maybe be in contention for #1 next week? I'm not sure I see his songs doing quite as well on streaming as Pop's have though based on the level of impact the two singles had so far. DMA'S looking like probably the biggest new release next week otherwise. Mabel hasn’t added the song to the album...... yet Well not on Apple anyways . It is there on Spotify

July 7, 20206 yr The OCC should really make a Playlist chart for cases like Mabel :D Very good sales for Paul Weller, his last studio album did 24K so this could do similarly also amazing how Dylan is holding up... in a couple weeks he's releasing the vinyl so he'll keep selling well for a while
