July 10, 20205 yr So we end up getting more new entries in the first two weeks of July than in the whole of June :') It felt weird to see so much movement in the charts after all the stagnation! From the newies I think the first Pop Smoke song was better than the other two, and of course I'm really enjoying the Head & Heart, really looks like it culd be a much-needed big hit for MNEK. As I'm still without Internet I recorded the chart on my phone and listened back to it and the radio went fuzzy just as the Chris Brown song came on
July 10, 20205 yr OMG! FKA twigs in the Top 40! That 'woi woi woi' song. XD I can't with two grown men going by as Lil' Baby and DaBaby. They made a song together last year called... (drum roll)... "Baby"!
July 11, 20205 yr My thoughts: great to see 'Ego Death' comfortably make the top 40, it was a lot better than I'd have expected for a Ty Dolla $ign song, it very much helps that it sounds a lot like 'Fade', more of these types of dance influenced rap songs to be a thing please. 'Circles' is alright for what it is but not something particularly memorable. 'Whats Poppin' has a great beat, much better than this Jack Harlow deserves - the remix is certainly an improvement too thanks to the other rappers input making it feel more finished. I quite like 'Woi' for how ridiculous his ad-libs sound but otherwise just another standard drill song. 'The Woo' sounded the best of these 3 new Pop Smoke songs so glad that is the highest, although 'Dior' is better than all 3, hopefully that will replace 'Mood Swings' next week now it's been reset. Brilliant to see Joel Corry debut so high, it's not quite as good as 'Lonely' was for me yet but it could be another grower. Hopefully he's in the top five before long. 'West Ten' is another great effort for AJT and an improvement from 'Dinner Guest' for me so hopefully it's just as big of a hit. shame that Rosalía had to fall just short especially with Niko B two spots ahead, but at least she made it higher than 'Perfect'.
