So I’ve just finished listening to this and I think it’ll be a grower, not completely sold on first listen. Perhaps the book will help with that.

 

Paralyzed is still one of the best songs she’s recorded.

'dear elton' is sitting well with me... the rest is gonna require a long walk to listen.

I have to say... I'm pretty disappointed with the album :( will give it another go though over the weekend.

The Power is an absolute bop!

Everybody’s Famous, Dear Elton and Play are all fairly pleasant

I think it's a really strong album :wub: and I appreciate how tight it is tracklist-wise. Everyone's Famous, Crash and The Power are my favourites of the newies I think, though I like them all! Crash gives me Jesus, Take the Wheel vibes and The Power feels very strongly inspired by Edge of Seventeen (which of course Delta's done her own version of before!).

 

Paralyzed is solidifying itself as one of her best songs too :wub: I think Billionaire is the weakest here - I quite enjoy it when I listen but it's not one that pulls me in for repeated plays.

My copy of the book arrived today. Will have to have a good look trough it and listen to the album again.

Really liking Dear Elton, liking this a lot more than I expected.

Yeah she's definitely more of an album and tour seller now. Radio won't play her anymore unfortunately.

Yeah, I think her singles chart success is well gone.

 

It’s good she can still sell albums though. Hopefully it’s not another 5 year wait for the next.

Started listening to this. It sounds ok but certainly not as good as her other albums but better than I expected!

My JB Hi-Fi preorder arrived today! It was signed and came with a cute wee notebook that I was not expecting. When I picked the parcel up I was so confused why it was so heavy 🤣

I notice the album has got good reviews but it’s definately not my favourite. It’s very short to start with. The songs are ok but just not as strong as much of her previous material.
