(looking forward to checking out the album in the coming days, loving the more relaxed 'I Would If I Could' at the moment on top of the preceding bangers )

New single from Daniel Avery featuring Cecile Believe “Rapture In Blue”. Heard this on 6Music last night, really like it. Cecile definitely should be much bigger than she is, such a talent.

  • Just seen the track list for the accompanying album Tremor and the feature list is stacked! The aforementioned Cecile Believe plus bdrmm, yunè pinku, yeule, Alison Mosshart, Julie Dawson (of NewDad),

another remix klaxon (I think this was already posted in Confidence Man's thread a while ago but I've been posting all his remixes here too)

Fitting song title to remix because it might as well just be an entirely new song that just samples the original again - but those are his best kind of remixes tbh. Issa banger.

'Ultra Truth' entered in the top 10 on the iTunes album chart earlier - doesn't mean much in itself but I hope that bodes well for it to chart somewhere officially. He got to #80 with 'Song For Alpha' in 2018 but didn't go top 100 with any of his last 3 albums sadly.

So the good news is that it's a great album, and yay for the amazing singles (Chaos Energy, Higher, Wall Of Sleep, Lone Swordsman) all now having a home at last. The album's sound is a mixture of the atmospheric techno/jungle of the singles, ambient and a couple of foggy downtempos (Only and Spider are pretty kool).

Overall, I'd give it a solid 8.5/10, the only drawback being a few unnecessary interlude-like tracks that stall rather than build on the transportive experience. Devotion and Heavy Rain are my faves of the new tracks

Really great- the title track is reminding me of 1992-1994 Aphex Twin era. Lots of it actually remind me of the highs and progression of dance music of the 1990s, “Chaos Energy” with its nod and wink to Future Sound of London remains my favourite at the moment, but it's great that “Lone Swordsman” makes an appearance there too. <3
Ooh yes the title track is great argeed! It's properly hit me now on a 3rd listen. It looks like it's the song being pushed on the Spotify playlists this week to promote the album

Daniel released a EP called More Truth this week. It’s a seven-track companion collection to Ultra Truth and includes the b-sides of the 3 singles + a couple of new tracks. Going So Low is the focus track on streaming playlists.

Remix of 2022 single “Wall Of Sleep” by Harvey McKay which uses the same pads/stabs as Gat Decor's 1992 smasha “Passion” <3

I really like it, but I feel it could have way more potential if the idea had been developed a bit further.

Absolutely fire set from Daniel. The Midnight Versions of 'Rapture in Blue' and 'Until the Moon Starts Shaking' sound incredible. Can he drop them now please x

New album is out - going in now and I see the artist credited as Ellie is Ellie Rowsell from Wolf Alice, immediately recognised that voice *.*

Really enjoying his dream shoegaze special with picks from Maria Somerville, james K, Interpol, Four Tet and Cocteau Twins. Great after club comedown soundtrack. <3

Listened to the new (ish) album today - was not expecting all the industrial influence on it but it is great as ever from him <3 'Haze' was my favourite but the whole of that track 3-6 run is pretty much flawless and then also really loving the title track, 'I Feel You', 'Disturb Me' and 'In Keeping (Soon We'll Be Dust)' - the only thing letting it down a little bit for me is that the solo/instrumental tracks minus the title track don't feel like they add too much (apart from the outro of 'Until The Moon Starts Shaking' which works well to ramp up the intensity leading into the next song x) but they're all pretty short anyway.
