July 17, 20205 yr 'The Emancipation Of Mimi' is her very best album though... :o of 2000's, yes!!! Butterfly, Music Box and Daydream are far superior!!!
July 17, 20205 yr Haus's Artists Tove Lo Bikinis on... or off. It's time to bring the sunshine out with everyone's favourite breast-baring Swedish princess. Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson was given the nickname Tove Lo by her godmother, after a lynx that she loved at the local zoo. Lo is Swedish for lynx, and in this competition she is coming to make a ROAR of her own as she brings her own truth serum, with her unique, eccentric, dramatic pop. Are you ready for the Queen of the Cloud to bring out her lady wood? Paws at the ready, her lips are feeling blue and they're ready to talk. Janet Jackson With music by our side to break the color lines, let's work together to improve our way of life. Join voices in protest, to social injustice, a generation full of courage. Come forth with me. People of the world today, we are a part of the rhythm nation. 30 years ago, Janet Jackson had a vision of a world united by music. The nation let rhythms guide them to break down social injustices. Today, that nation is still a very distant dream. In this contest, we will celebrate the illustrious career of this hugely influential legend and create our own nation of love and respect. Let's take control as the unbreakable Janet takes centre stage, behind the velvet rope.
July 17, 20205 yr Author I know shamefully little Janet so I'm REALLY excited for discoveries!! Tove I'm much more familiar with, can't wait to see what's picked
July 17, 20205 yr I'm excited for those 2. I'm only familiar with their popular hits tbh (and 'Really Don't Like U' by Tove) I'm gonna say (my early prediction) Janet is gonna dark horse this to victory, I think! :o
July 17, 20205 yr Carly, Mariah, Tove and Janet are all some of my ALL time faves. Saw Carly and Tove in the same week a few months ago! Routing for them for sure!
July 17, 20205 yr I used to love Tove Lo but I've fallen off her wagon, and I'm sure there's a lot to Janet that I've never really tried to go in so bring it.
July 17, 20205 yr dandy* artiste Röyksopp first came to my attention back at the turn of the century when the Norwegian duo released Melody AM, a stylistically varied electronic album that was packed full of downtempo goodness, varied quirky styles and collaborations. The electronic producers had made a promising start to their career but it still didn't prepare me for what was to come, they have since expanded their horizons in their instrumental music to take in many different genres but for me they truly shine when they collaborate with other acts. They’ve certainly grown to be recognised as one of the all time greats in dance music circles. Happily for me they have exquisite taste in who they collaborate with and they have worked with some of my favourite Scandinavian pop artists like Robyn, Susanne Sundfør and Karin Dreijer (from The Knife), all of which I'm hoping to showcase at some point in the contest. Up until the last moment I was going to send Robyn (no surprises there as she’s my all time favourite pop act!) but I felt that she was already so well known on the board that nobody would make any discoveries from her catalogue, so this gives me the perfect opportunity to still send a couple of Robyn tracks whilst also sharing some other beautiful and, in my opinion, perfect examples of other electronic collaborations. I hope you find you love them like I do...
July 17, 20205 yr Author I don't know a single Röyksopp song...! Hoping to be impressed. (loving everyone's spirit for discovery in this game so far! that's what it's all about for me )
July 17, 20205 yr omg Dandy, I thought you went for Robyn and I was like dead for a second Royskopp are also very inspired choice...just wish Robyn was instead :kink:
July 17, 20205 yr I only know Royskopp from their songs with Robyn, so this is going to be interesting :o
July 17, 20205 yr I do feel dirty for cheating on Robyn like this but she will definitely still be featuring in at least two tracks!
July 17, 20205 yr Lee's Artists The Weeknd One of the biggest stars on the planet right now, The Weeknd has already amassed five chart-topping smashes in the US and has claimed the biggest hit of 2020 with Blinding Lights. I was keen to be unpredictable with this choice - will it prove to be a successful risk? :o Pixie Lott What do you take Lee for? Get ready to relive Pixie's iconic career, spanning three albums and including three UK chart-toppers. I’m notorious for my Pixie love, and I couldn't think of anyone more qualified to bring her iconic discography to the forefront once again *.*[/color]
