There are some positives....there has been decent initial streaming, it is so tough for older artists to do well with new tracks.

Over 3000 downloads first 8 days, I mean that’s not bad considering the number one song sold just over 6k...though I note Nathan Dawes is top on sales. Where would 3k plus put Kylie this week? Also were any streaming points inc in last Thursdays sales total?

...and Dancing took weeks to make its peak.

Anyone else still finding this disappointing, or just me? :D

The song or the sales?

I like the song now and looking forwrd to the video which should get some attention for her. Could just do with something being released with it, a radio edit or a remix etc

Will be interesting how they have done a disco social distancing and edited it all etc. If Kylie looks hot then it usually makes the video

I was just watching Timebomb and I often over look this song and video but both are excellent

Yep I believe they still have a few things up their sleeve, or they will quickly move up to anothrt single. BMG will know what pre orders are like and if they are happy with probsbly continue with this

She is on the MTV UK playlist which is good but video missing obviously so I guess it will be coming next week. I would prefer her to release on Friday with maybe a TV premiere like on Lorraine or something, and maybe a teaser clip posted on Tues or Weds to build up a climax.

As for video I am not expecting much but let's see. Like I say if Kylie looks striking then it should go well...

Seems a little Itunes boost. Dropped to 68 but now up to 58 agisn

Just like to keep it top 100 so that any promo comes and it is there ready to purchase.

AIRPLAY - Up to #58 (from #89) - impressive given its not added to R2 yet

Where did it reach on the rolling chart during the week, top 40 I recall? Guess it’s audience fell back a bit after Thursday’s premier plays dropped off.

Anyone hearing 'I Believe In You' similarity in the chorus :unusure: or is it just me

Yep! It’s a cross between All The Lovers, I Believe In You and Better Than Today :D

Yep they Defo played safe again with the first song.

It grown on me now and helps taking a few days off from it

I just gave it a listen to try and hear 'Better Than Today' in it, but I just can't.

I don’t even think it’s about money - Kylie, her management and label are well aware her days of big hit singles are over, and in the grand scheme of things even if they had released it on Friday it would have only reached #59+ so hardly missing out on a huge hit. The singles model is there solely to sell the album - they could easily give us physicals etc., of singles but it still wouldn’t turn the singles in to hits, maybe a 44-72-99 kind of chart run.

Yep - to them it really doesn't make a difference if it charted at #59, #82 or didn't chart at all - at least with releasing it on Thursday it gave Kylie the attention for a day instead of having to fight for it with Little Mix, Taylor Swift et al. Their focus is with the album, as it should be.

Yeah I agree with everyone - singles are not the priority, what they are there for is to showcase the album and get people signed into buying it. Don't get me wrong I loved the singles era but that doesn't seem the route to take now for the artists are a multiple decade artist.

Money is made from albums and touring the record. I think the Thursday release was interesting, I do not feel it hurt the record that much, interestingly, Kylie faired so much better that Mcfly have, they have moved down very quickly and only hit Number 3, Zoe Ball announcement the same strategy so Kylie still has that pull.

It is a shame that Kylie like everyone is unable to perform hindering the public hearing the record - I mean Dancing got off to a wonderful start with Ant and Dec Takeaway.

Will be interesting to see if we will ever see a LIVE performance of Say Something, could be the first Kylie record to have zero TV promo!!

No it will get promo. Probably on Friday when released or midweek. She will have secured something like GMB or Lorraine I am sure, those programmes are begging for stars to come on or, even via video link she will have it covered. Or even The One Show.

I would like a Friday 7th release

Added to Magic Chilled playlist.

Played lyric video on MTV UK TV channel and added to their playlist as a future hit.

Rises from 77 to 61 on UK Itunes in last few hours

Lyric Video now has 534,000 views worldwide, the 83rd most watched video in Kylie history on YouTube.

Things looking up a bit.

It could be highly likely it will be the first lead Kylie single to zero promotion due to the pandemic.

When promotion becomes available it is likely to be suitable to the second single.

That said, a medley of Say Something and the second single could be a good promotional concept.

Yes what I meant with TV was that we may never see a TV performance of the single - I agree entirely she may make a few appearances when the video is released - to be honest that should be easy to do.
