'Epiphany' is just... wow... Taylor at her best.

So as far as I can tell the album is doing better on AM in the UK than Lover which is great to see. Downside is I think its doing worse in the US

I'm guessing the Folklore tracks will still rise over the next few hours quite a bit so I feel on the whole it's not too dissimilar a start on AM even tho Lover did better. The 1 is already at 7, Cardigan at 13, 7 tracks top 40 and everything top 100! Also it's hard to compare completely cos of 90% of Folklore's tracks having double versions ahaha!!

the UK on the other hand it's doing so much better!!! I'm really shocked just how much better it's doing :o

 

the update below was at 8:30pm so with 2 hours less and 2 versions of most tracks, Folklore has 2 tracks top 15, 5 tracks top 30 and 8 tracks top 40!! Lover found dead in a ditch x

Cardigan (#4), Exile (#6), American Dynasty (#7), Tears Ricochet (#10), everything top 50, US slight underperformance is over and Lover is getting ha wig snatched again *.*

This album was exactly what I needed. It’s so funny that last year Lover was the innocent, positive, falling-in-love record I needed and now folklore is the darker, kind of heartbreak album I need. Perfect timing Taylor! August hits particularly hard. Still working my way through the album

I'm normally just a casual Taylor Swift listener, I'll listen to her songs but I wouldn't normally go out of my way to listen to her music.

 

BUT HOLY HELL. I've just sat and listened to this whole damn album and by GOD what a masterpiece! I'm loving the love triangle trio of songs!! Hard to pick favourites, but I can't stop listening to cardigan. epiphany, mad woman, august and exile are my stand outs.

Lover sold 16,867 on first day in the UK. Obvs first update doesn't include any streaming at all + no physicals, expect for a v. low number tomorrow x

 

also for comparison point for tomorrow - this is Lover's UK/US/WW debut on Spotify -> if anyone knows the Spotify counter number for Lover's first day (which is just a WW total), plz lmk as that's the first Spotify figure we'll find out probs:

 

couple notes - the UK debut for Lover (song) with those numbers would be enough for top 5 both in today's chart and last Friday's chart. the entire album make the top 50 (bar INTHAF & Daylight which'd both miss out by like 2k streams)

- as long as the J. Cole songs decrease on 2nd day, wishing well doesn't bump it too much, and folklore at minimum opens with the same numbers as Lover, she can grab the entire top 10 on US Spotify
