Emma's album was also dead by her second single. I don't know what that has to do with Melanie C or her chart topic but there are Emma topics if you want to discuss her there.

This is very true... Unless she creates a new campaign (with new versions of songs, maybe some added duets, etc) it simply wont do much more than what has been done already.

 

Also, I have not seen *any* advert for the song and video on social media, so no wonder it if not taking off at all...

Yeah it's not about getting hits or sending the album flying back up the charts. Although of course that would be amazing it's not going to happen, it's all about the trickle sales of the album which can eventually add up. As cringey as it was, she should do that shopping channel again like she did for Stages, that obviously sold a bulk of the albums sales as it went from 7k to over 10k. (Unless the albums sold on the Jesus Christ Superstar are included in that tally, I don't see how they would keep track of those sales though?)

Albums sold at concerts or gigs don't count towards official sales. The artist or record label don't care a sale is a sale. It is like the sales on Amazon where someone buys from another country they don't count.

Not sure that her doing that shopping channel again for this album is a good idea. With Stages, it made sense cos it was the right audience for it (older, at home people) but for this type of music that sale would be much much harder for that audience.

 

And she should focus on building her streaming and her fandom. She got good results out of Spotify this time, which is great. Hope that continues to build in future eras...

I would love to know how many extra copies she sold at JCS. I mean even a couple of hundred per show would give her an addition 1000 copies. At my show an older woman was saying to her daughter should I get a copy of that and I told her “it’s fantastic but a copy” then walked away laughing because it is shit :lol:

Melanie C should absolutely do the same, she could easily shift those LP books left. People go a bit mad at concerts on merch, I got my bf a hoodie in 2019 and he's not really a fan just went with me.

B list on Radio 2 only means a few plays in a week. This week it only got 5 plays. For the song to have a real chance to make an impact, it needs to move up to the A list.

That was the official attendance for the 3 Wembley gigs. They won a Billboard touring award for those 3 nights there as it was the biggest gross of any tour from one venue.

 

My happy place was also sold at her xmas gig too.

Radio 2 has a massive audience though. How do you think she got top 20 on the airplay chart with Blame it on me? It wasn't getting any plays anywhere else just radio 2 that's how big radio 2 is.

Yeah I dont remember the album itself being available on the stands. The advert for it did appear on the screens before the show though
