I don't think it's ever happened; Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, Missy Elliott, Lil Kim, Dev have all had #1s but not as the lead performer.

There was however Lady Oo of Sam and The Womp if we're counting people in groups. (and yes I had to use wiki to find out what her name was)

I guess you could argue the first was Nicki with Bang Bang as technically it’s not a feature, they all have equal billing as far as I’m aware

that’s why I said ‘not as a lead performer’ - she may have got joint billing but she wasn’t the lead (first listed) performer. same goes for Lil Kim on Lady Marmelade.

 

Cardi B would be the first solo female rapper to get a number one as a lead performer.

Another big move for 'Mood', only just entered the top 200 this time last week and now in the top 30 - possibly a future top 5 hit?

what was really weird on YT, Ava Max was doing crazy figures for a few days with Who's Laughing Now, was at like #7 with 350k per day

bit strange when Kings & Queens never went top 20 and even the biggest pop names fail to go top 20 or do 200K a day

wonder if those were fake YT views like those fake streams we see every now and then :D

yes, kworb youtube looks off, but they had Ava for like 4 days at #7 but now it's gone

I find it so strange that Take You Dancing, Hallucinate and the Jubel cover of Dancing In The Moonlight are STILL not being added to Hot Hits UK. I mean they are all firmly in the top 40, so they are hits?
New Headie One and Clean Bandit both added to HHUK although pretty low down
