Pete's Chart Commentary

A static Top 3 for the fourth week in a row, however the rest of the chart is more exciting as Akamdinelu soars into the Top 5, Bastille enters straight into the Top 10 and a grand total of 7 new entries in the Top 40. These include Taylor Swift, who I never in a million years expected to give a Top 20 place to, and Pool, who probably break the record for length of time in between Top 40 singles - their last one was in September 2016.

 

We also have my failed BJSC entry 'Lost' enter, plus my BJSC 127 potential (which I can freely say as so many songs have entered you don't have a clue which one it is)

Some great songs here, very happy to see someone else share the love for Shallou.

I was a big fan of it! It was my +18 but couldn't really chart it much higher given how old it was (I sort-of have a 'mental ACR' for older tracks :P) Shallou is a great artist as well, this is the third song I've charted from him but probably the best. Thanks Jafet!

Good to see Gryffin's "Cry" and Lost Frequencies' "Don't Leave Me Now" enter your chart. Both failed to do so on mine this week due to the sudden influx of BJSC entries but will def show up next week instead! Some familiar names here that I didn't realise had released some new music, might check it out (notably Elderbrook's #3 hit here, as I loved their collab with Rudimental last year).

Hi Pete! Great to see Bastille straight into the top 10, it's already a big favourite of mine! I'm also liking the new entries from Snow Patrol and New Rules (who have been very hit or miss with me so far :lol:)

Nice to see the new entry for Bastille, I'm liking this sound for them. Exile is one of my favourites on Taylor's new album so like to see the debut for that also.

Exile was the standout of the few tracks I heard of Taylor's new album so good to see that being the one hit for her here.

Cry is rather good too, doesn't offer anything new but Gryffin does this type of track better than most.
