With her return announced recently, it's the battle of the Kylie album tracks this time as we delve even further into finding out what is Calvin's best produced track for other artists!

Heart Beat Rock was released in 2007 as part of the X album and Too Much in 2010 for Aphrodite. For both tracks, Calvin had a hand in songwriting, mixing and is the sole producer.

Please familiarise yourself with the tracks below and vote for your favoutire ^_^

Not gonna lie, I hadn't heard either of these before today but my vote instantly went for Too Much within about 5 seconds of hearing it :kink:

Heart Beat Rock is a little different and it's okay, but Too Much is a bop.

Easily 'Too Much' for me.

'Too Much' was actually intended to be the lead single until 'All the Lovers' came along. Strange how it ended up not being used at all. I wonder how it would have performed if it was kept as lead single - I think it's sonically quite similar to 'We Found Love' which followed a year later; not that I think this would have been a mega-smash like that was (I think the production on that is much more intense and energetic and I think where Rihanna was in her career - and Calvin too actually - had a lot to do with its success) but it again showed that Kylie was ahead of the trends.

Similarly, Kylie work with Calvin on X was before he properly broke out. I'm not too wowed by 'Heart Beat Rock' (my least favourite on the album) but 'In My Arms' is fantastic and should have been released for download in the summer of 2007 after it leaked. The hype for it was massive.

Oh wow had no idea about that for Too Much, I do wish it had been a single tbh

I find it strange how it was all set to be the lead single yet was not only not released at all but was the only song from the album Kylie didn't perform on the respective tour! Not sure what happened there. I do think it would have been a good single.

Ya its strange it went from possibly been the lead single to been nearly forgotten about, i do like it but i dont think it would have been half as successful as all the lovers was as a lead single.

Could be as simple as Kylie herself not caring for it, hence why she also left it out on the tour.

Minority opinion, but I went for "Heart Beat Rock".

While I agree that "Too Much" tends to be in the vein of "We Found Love", the production of "Heart Beat Rock" reminds me a lot of his debut album I Created Disco.

Yeah I agree about the production, it's very early-Calvin. It's the best part of the song, not too keen on the vocal and lyrics.
Too Much is a bop, doesn't get the credit it deserves, my favourite non-single track on Aphrodite. Heart Beat Rock however is a lowlight on X, so this is an easy one for me.

'Too Much' absolutely should NOT have been a single, that would've been a disaster choice.

As for this, ummmm. I might need to think about it. Neither are exactly up there with her best (unlike 'In My Arms')

Too much prob wouldnt have worked as a single but i would have liked it to have seen it getting a full live performance.
