December 7, 20204 yr Blondie around where I was expecting them and Radiohead much higher than expected! Both great bands, Blondie's Greatest Hits is such a fun listen and I must admit I sing along a bit too enthusiastically when 'Denis' comes on :D as for Radiohead, I love their earlier stuff but they lost me a little when they went all experimental. Some absolute gems in their discography though, 'Street Spirit', 'Karma Police', 'Paranoid Android', 'My Iron Lung' and... the song I regard as my absolute favourite song of all time which is 'Creep' the lyrics, the vocals, the chords, everything about that song is pure PERFECTION.
December 7, 20204 yr Blondie faves: Dreaming, Atomic, and the lesser known X-Offender. Fantastic to see so many voters for them. Radiohead faves: Fake Plastic Trees  Paranoid Android, Creep - and yeah they lost me a bit from Kid A onwards, but before that they were stellar. I have 4 groups left, but all my top 15 are now out :(
December 7, 20204 yr Author So who's leaving before the top 10, or should that be who do you want to leave before the top 10 then?
December 7, 20204 yr Nice to see Blondie so high, I didn't think they'd be this high. I hope Coldplay don't make top 10, not sure who will be out next though
December 7, 20204 yr Listen to music before and after the Beatles to see how important they are. They basically created the format of the album! I'm sure they were important I certainly don't deny their impact. I just think their actual output in terms of the majority of their songs are not to my personal taste just my opinion. Although I do like some of their songs such as Come Together, I Want To Hold Your Hand and Yesterday.
December 7, 20204 yr Queen and The Saturdays would be my realistic preferences to not reach the top 10. Blondie and Radiohead fine for the most part, I can definitely tolerate Radiohead a lot more than I used to but still in small doses!
December 7, 20204 yr Wow - gutted I didn't vote, I cant believe that The Beatles (29pts) and Oasis (26pts) missed the top 10. Both iconic bands (even if one was an imitation of the other!). Shocked that they've been beaten by the Saturdays and Destiny's Child especially! Radiohead (4pts) and Blondie are both brilliant too and its great to see them so high.
December 7, 20204 yr Author I don't know why people are surprised the Saturdays did so well? This is Buzzjack- Girl groups were always going to do well. If there is a surprise then it's how well all male groups have done especially indie groups
December 7, 20204 yr Yeah exactly that tbh - Girls Aloud, Little Mix, Spice Girls and The Saturdays were always going to do well in a Buzzjack vote. Definitely did not see Radiohead or Arcade Fire finishing as high as they did. I'm pleased that we still have a couple of rock bands to come though :D
December 7, 20204 yr I'm not a big Blondie fan but Atomic and Rapture are both great songs. Good to see Radiohead this high. The Bends and OK Computer are fantastic albums but I agree with what others have said that they've been patchy since then with too much electronic noodling.
December 7, 20204 yr Tbh I voted for The Saturdays and even I think they need to go! Agreed on both accounts. I think I gave them too many points looking back
December 7, 20204 yr Fantastic band Blondie, Deborah Harry must be the most iconic lead singer of all time!
December 7, 20204 yr Radiohead didn't get worse from Kid A onwards, if anything they cemented their greatness for me. They'd been there done that with the sounds of their first three albums, they took their sound somewhere else and I think it worked for them - Kid A in particular is my favourite album of theirs  and (unpopular opinion) I think you can make a better best of their 'electronic' stuff than you can their rock stuff. That's not to say that OK Computer and The Bends aren't amazing though as they most definitely are
December 7, 20204 yr I don't think that's an unpopular opinion at all (maybe on BuzzJack but certainly not among their fanbase etc.) - I don't know a lot about Radiohead's discography but I definitely see as much praise if not more for their later experimental albums (particularly 'Kid A') as for their earlier ones, in fact I'm sure their first couple of albums actually have a pretty bad reputation among their fans.
December 7, 20204 yr Their debut Pablo Honey is definitely their weakest album by some distance. The step up from that to The Bends is one of the biggest jumps in quality I've ever seen from an act. And yet they made that leap again to OK Computer... and imo then again to Kid A.
