I don’t put the blame on her

She could put on a show if she wanted to. Nothing is stopping her.

Didn't Chris hinted at a vinyl release a few months ago?

Did he?... I don't remember this. I only remember a few posts from some magazine online and a few fans saying this, but not Chris I don't think...

I am also definitely blaming her for this, sorry... It's too apparent that this is not just an issue with the label but also from her lack of interest/motivation

The fact that almost 99.9% of the comments under that post are either from international fans who don't have it on Spotify and want it to be, or are from fans here in the UK that would give their right arm for a proper vinyl reissue and both of them being - for now - ignored doesn't exactly look good.

But then again it's XIX Management that hold the keys to the castle at the moment, as they own the masters. And given how much Simon Fuller ballsed up not just the Spiceworld reissue (some of it because of reluctant fellow colleagues of Emma's) but also the S Club vinyl reissues nothing would surprise me if he is one of the main spanners in the works on this. It could well be that he's levying it as bargaining power to get whatever it is the Spice Girls were meant to be doing in motion?

Did he?

Yes. Maybe (pun intended) it will get announced for Record Store Day 2024. #startingarumour

This would make sense but again, not hopeful

I remember finding a copy of this for $5 when a Virgin Music Store was closing down in Melbourne in 2008. I picked it up of course but probably haven't listened to it since then.
Emma herself has such a limited interest in her own music career that she isn't pushing for her material to be out there, so why would anyone else bother? Honestly the dust her and Geri pay their careers when both had decent success at different points is so sad.

I suppose it’s nice that she acknowledges the anniversaries at least? I’m sure there’s many artists who don’t bother with that.

Personally I don’t think Emma has much sway in making things happen for Free Me. It’s technical and it needs the label to be motivated. There’ll be copyright and old licence agreements when it comes to making it available worldwide, and it seems they just cba. It’s probably considered to be extremely low priority when there’s numerous other more current artists/music/business ideas to focus on.

I think honestly it's her own goddamn fault for saying that she was doing something about it like four years ago. That she was going to try to sort out the issues but since then she never mentioned it ever again with each anniversary! At least, just let us know that she tried but it couldn't work out.

Right, for sure. A fan in the know on PopJustice did say he has a strategy/project on this which he will start on next week. Apparently Universal only hold the rights in the UK, not elsewhere, so this is the issue.

A UK-only vinyl could have been done though, with international shipping. But oh well... Someone go to Simon Fuller's house and kick that man in the balls please for me? <_<

She DID hint a 20th anniversary celebration when posting about the album in 2023's anniversary post. My hunch is that it all fell through somehow

She also hinted at another Christmas tour last year, which didn't materialise.

She needs a better management team, sorry. The Mutha Ship or whatever it is, has been great for Kit&Kin for sure, but hasnt been great for her solo career.

She needs a new team!

I can think of one... 🤣

She could do a documentary on (or with) Queen Noor, sweetie.

Seriously though. I think whatever hopes I had towards this happening have literally evaporated in the last 48 hours. Unless it's Mel C it's like the others don't wanna know.

I guess she only needs a new team if she wants to continue her music / celeb career tbf. She is clearly doing very well with the Kit & Kin brand isn't it in Mamas & Papas?

Well yes. That's what I meant. I want her to focus on her pop career more, and get a new pop-music focused team

Didn't you say you were not into the girls' solo careers anymore?

Group or nada, so I guess it's nada
