October 29, 20205 yr Weird how Sweet Melody is barely matching BUS. It's holding well on iTunes, better on Spotify, similar on AM and it even has the video to support it (#1 on YouTube now). I guess YouTube streams must not have as much of an effect on the chart as I thought. Or it's a more competitive week? Though this will clearly hold up better in the coming weeks at least. Maybe a top 5 or 3 on Confetti release week. Break Up Song had first single hype which gave it an additional 2k (by this point in the week) of pure sales. Being the 5th song released off the album, Sweet Melody was never going to do those numbers in pure sales. Sweet Melody is outdoing those sales slightly but with more organic and well rounded sales rather than front loaded iTunes sales. but if it had done; it would have been on for a debut at #4 in the midweeks today. Ah this makes more sense. I didn't realise there was a big pure sales gap between them.
October 29, 20205 yr Hoping Bring Me The Horizon can hang on for that top 40 place, Teardrops is easily my favourite of their songs from this year!
October 29, 20205 yr Train Wreck is from 2016 I believe But it wasn't released as a single. So, only James Arthur fans knew it before 2020.
October 29, 20205 yr Echoing Joseph’s hope of Golden sneaking in!! Sweet Melody should at least match BUS’s peak; this song is going to have crazy longevity and will ultimately out-peak BUS anyway. Ariana looking to clear 55k tomorrow is fantastic! She’s poised for great album figures next week then. Bruce looking unlikely to steal Lady Gaga’s biggest week sales of 2020 but the bigger question is if Ariana can do it next week? Edited October 29, 20205 yr by Cognizant
