I think one issue is we haven’t really delved into Gray’s backstory or the reason he is the way he is aside from a couple of throwaway lines 18 months ago. Abusers don’t need a ‘reason’ for what they do of course but given they seem to have invested in Gray, it’s odd that they haven’t explored his past. We don’t even really know much about how he and Chantelle got together. Chantelle’s death seems so rushed in hindsight not helped by the fact they didn’t write an aftermath for anyone but Gray. When Karen tells her stories to the kids, it’s almost like Ian Beale taking about Auntie Pauline-something that happened a long time ago that doesn’t hurt much anymore.

 

I do think they could have written it so that Kush figured out what Gray had done and I think they may have had that moment in their showdown but that probably realised that Arthur had been on the toilet for 84 years as it was and didn’t want to stretch things too much.

 

I don’t think I can bare Whitney becoming a victim of domestic abuse. It’s a bit too much.

Surely there would have been people on the train. One of them might have seen Gray walking along the platform as the train pulled in. And why was the train coming out of a tunnel? Passengers walk up stairs to get to the platform and you see trains on the bridge above the market so the track is above ground level.

It was actually good to see Denise’s reaction and that they remembered the history. Plus she was the only one who remembered Carmel. Mick’s toast was all kind of cringe though. Odd that Kat didn’t appear at all.

Why couldn't they have let Whitney head off with Kush for a happy ever after. Kush's rushed gambling addiction seems pointless with his ending and now we have months to endure Whitney been Gray's victim before he is caught.

I would prefer to have seen Gray put with a strong woman like Kat and watch him manipulate and pear her down before been the one to expose him by fighting back.

the cctv is literally watched by a TFL member of staff most of the day & night... if it weren't working, I'm sure they could get a fine or something... and the tube cctv is so clear. A friend of mine once tried to go for a pee on the tube platform and the guy on the tanoid called them out...

I'm kinda of the same thoughts, I have no faith in them at all with any of the characters.
