I’m not gonna get too attached to Vi right now, characters often lose their spark after a bit these days.

With her track record, I can’t believe Whitney is lecturing anyone on the right way to start a marriage.

It’s funny how Kathy and Bobby no longer give a shit about where Ian is. Not even a line to say ‘he needs to be at his brother’s wedding’.

So where do we actually go with this Linda pregnancy? No point having the baby if Max isn’t going to be around for the drama. Plus Kellie Bright herself will be off soon.

This is actually getting worse and worse by the episode. I honestly don’t care where Bailey is and all the Taylor stuff today was horrific and cliched and Lorraine Stanley is just crap at emotion and always falls into overacting. Every Ben and Callum scene lingers on a few seconds too long just to keep up their screen time and the same for Mick.

This show needs some serious work.

I'm finding it such a struggle to keep watching this, I do it out of habit and the misguided optimism that it will improve soon. Almost NONE of the characters actually feel remotely real right now, the situations they're in aren't believable as they're not built up and crafted on characterisation. Sonia is a ray of light right now as she seems to be the only person living in reality (and I'm actually enjoying Nancy since her return, but the less said about Linda the better ). I can't feel anything for Ballum's relationship as Ben's toxic and Callum is better off away from him quite honestly  Karen was wholly unlikeable tonight, I can't believe they thought her rant in the street was a good idea. What is going on???

Thankfully Kim continues to be queen, at least her scenes are intentionally ridiculous  also I NEED more Iqra and Mila!

Yet again the Bailey stuff just indirectly makes a mockery of Chantelle, all this misery piled on the Taylors and each time it just highlights how little time they spent on Chantelle's death compared to basically anything else that's gone wrong. I agree there is just nothing happened that feels real so you can't care about any of it, it's like they've picked storylines out of a hat not caring if it makes sense for the character, not caring if they see it through properly.
I agree, they could have focused on Chantelle's death as that alone was a good storyline for the Taylors instead of the way they have gone, i hated they brought back the Taylors been broke again as i think it just brings them down so much and Karen had more appeal not been broke and i think people warmed to her more in that role, they could have kept away from them been broke and let Karen express her grief as she is someone who cares alot for her kids so her lack of grief doesn't tie in with what her character is about.

Maybe I’m just cold hearted or something but this Taylor story is rubbing me up the wrong way. I found it disgusting how they all looked down at Denise for doing something nice for them. Yeah and gift basket doesn’t solve anything but it is a kind gesture no matter how they’re spinning it. I deal with families in similar situations all the time and they are never ungrateful for any act of kindness. I’m also appalled that Karen’s criminal behaviour has now been rewarded, I’m not sure this is a message that should be put out there.

I don’t think we’ve seen even one scene of Karen and Mitch actively looking for Bailey. They haven’t even left the square. I’m sorry but this is all shite and Liam has hit the nail on the head about Chantelle. Bernadette said ‘too little too late’ today but it’s kind of how I’m feeling about that family showing any emotion.

Knew it would be Kat anyway, as if they’d let Whitney hit her actual targets.

Yes I really like her, she is a breath of fresh air.

I'm actually back in the habit of watching this now I work normal hours

Firstly I just wanna say, as much as there is a load of shite in EastEnders (it's a soap, that's expected), I'm so impressed at their inclusion of Nancy and her struggles with Epilepsy. It would be an easy thing for them to just gloss over or lightly mention every so often but the fact they seem to be going down the route of them showing how it can affect a lot more things is really great to see as it's something I feel there's so little awareness of. Nancy is a fantastic character, Maddy Hill is also a fantastic actress so I'm really glad she's back in it, I just hope the writers do her justice. Also on another note, she's got the biggest bi energy going and I think EastEnders should very much take that and run with it xxxx

On the topic of queer characters, it would be nice to see more of Iqra! Callum and Ben I do like together and I wanted them to get married but they are a bit boring now. Most of the characters in EE go stale after a while, Whitney and Gray being the worst atm. I just want Gray to be caught or maybe they could start a redemption arc for him or something idk. Rumour has it Janine returns and that's how he gets what's coming to him which honestly would be iconic so I just hope that's true. A Janine return is always welcome tbf.

I think they should bring back Shabnam to save the show tbh. Kush dying could have even been an opportunity for that. Linda is annoying af but I'm thinking she'll end up giving the baby to Rainie and Stuart, who are also two of the better characters rn.

Sorry to say it but I don't like Vi at all??? Her acting is atrocious, everything is so forced and not even funny. I get what they're going for with the basis of her character but it's just not working lmao

Vi could have the makings of a good character but she’s just become a ‘forced funny’ character who isn’t very funny. She’s also been incredibly homophobic without even one character picking her up on it. This sort of passive ‘product of her generation’ homophobia really shouldn’t still be a thing in soaps.
Yea it was that sort of humour I didn't like. I get they're trying to make her the outspoken family member stuck in her ways, she's extremely ignorant but "that's just the way she is" type of thing that I think most people can relate to but they're not doing it in a tasteful way, by all means include ignorant jokes but make a point of having another character tell her off for it or something
I like Vi but some of her opinions are wrong but maybe that will be her storyline where she gets educated. I'm glad they are covering Nancy's epilepsy again,,( I'm epileptic myself) and I can honestly say I can relate to how she was feeling in Fridays episode.
Yea I'm also epileptic myself which is why it hit home. The moment where she could feel it coming on as well was well acted. I appreciate the fact she wasn't triggered by flashing lights which is the first thing people seem to think of when they hear the word Epilepsy.
Quite enjoyed that ep tonight. We need more Bernadette.
Another comedian joins Eastenders Brian Conley, for some reason I cottoned on its Sonia's father.
