But there is not strength in their relationship, that’s the point! The narrative of them being the couple that always stay together has been so false because we never see any of it on screen. If they’re not at it like rabbits, then they completely fall apart. Their relationship has only ever been shown to be about sex. In real life, a relationship like that wouldn’t have lasted more than a couple of years.

 

But it’s nice to see them get Linda back on the drink again. Couldn’t have kept it too long before putting her at fault to elevate Danny Dyer’s character.

I expect Dana flashing that iron around at the beginning was foreshadowing she’s going to get badly burnt in this explosion.

I much prefer the prospect of a Martin/Sonia reunion than a Martin/Stacey one.

I love that Phil, knowing he was going on the run, decided to dress up as Burglar Bill so that he could look as conspicuous as possible.

 

Sucks that it looks like Iqra is leaving. I’ve always really liked her but she never gets a story. She didn’t even show up at New Year when a bomb was in her proposed Mosque.

 

Linda Carter must have the worst support network of anyone ever. Shirley openly despises her, Mick is too proud to support her and Nancy thinks the best way to deal with alcoholism is public humiliation. And not one of them seems to realise that addiction is an illness and that she isn’t actively choosing alcohol over them.

What was that exit for Iqra? She's not appearing again so not even a goodbye scene with Mila? A criminally underused character over the past 3 years.

And the actress has confirmed that was Iqra’s last scene. Talk about being a shafted character from beginning to end.

Crap exit, there was a time EastEnders were brilliant with exits but now they are clueless with them and are such non events.

I’m still not happy about Iqra. I’ve been really enjoying the show recently but things like this just push it a couple of steps back. Why did they have no idea what to do with a gay Muslim female? And to write her out in the middle of this Mosque storyline just doesn’t make any sense.

If they had the courage to go ahead with the bomb going off Iqra could easily have got a better exit and also show the extreme left thinking and warped thinking and beliefs of those so narrow minded to understand other people's beliefs and religion.

It was also an opportunity to kill of other deadwood on the square.

How would the police not have noticed Kat and Sharon strutting around the caravan park with that beret and all that leopard skin?
