I imagine Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande are all a given, hopefully Kylie can take that last place but it wouldn't surprise me if someone like Selena Gomez got there. I think you have to have released an album in the eligibility period so I think that rules out Doja Cat. In theory, having the second highest first week album sales of 2020 should be enough of an achievement to earn a nomination.

March 31, 20214 yr I was sure you had to have released an album in the past year to secure a nomination. Clearly not the case given the nominations for Billie and Cardi B; at least Cardi was responsible for one of the biggest commercial and cultural moments of 2020. I guess there's no chance of Kylie ever being nominated again. International Female is always going to be a competitive category and the BRITs are probably going to favour acts who create the most Twitter buzz and that they want to persuade to perform at the ceremony. If Kylie can't make the list despite one of her most critically praised albums that achieved the highest debut album sales for a female last year, then I don't think there's much more she can do.

March 31, 20214 yr Im not surprised that Kylie was snubbed but i am disappointed especially given the quality of Disco a nomination was more than deserved.
April 1, 20214 yr Author Pretty sure it's mainly record companies influence as is the case with Streaming playlists. BMG won't be up there with the big boys of the moment who fund those influencers etc. Not many top stars go to the Brits now anyway from the icon generation, only if it will grab headlines etc.
