Number 1 in the UK but with "only" 25k sales.

I guess it's to be expected in this day and age (pun intended) of poor album sales, but when its literally half of what their last two albums kicked off with it shows what happens when there's very little promotion or fanfare.

oh then that's not half bad considering how the OCC counts album sales, after week 1 it's all about fake streams from playlists so of course the Killers are gonna get none :/

I tried this in the chart rules thread but no luck! Does anyone here know?

Killers latest album Pressure Machine is available on streaming and digital download as both a standard version and an ‘abridged’ version. The standard version has these little interviews or ‘interstitials’ before most tracks. So it’s longer, and the tracks have different durations between the two versions.

Can anyone confirm these two will definitely be combined in the U.K. albums chart and total sales etc?

I don't see any reason they wouldn't be combined. Which version of the album you're streaming from doesn't matter, the sales are calculated by just adding up the streams of the individual songs, and one would assume that the abridged and non-abridged versions are combined for each individual song.

This album has stayed in my car (still use a CD player) since release and I love it more with each listen.

It's better with the stories in between as each ties in with the next track and, if they are 100% real, then they really tell the story well.

Thumbs up for certain.

'West Hills' is an absolutely fantastic opening track - instantly liking that more than their entire previous album and probably my favourite song from them since the 2000s tbh!

The rest of the album didn't have any other songs that hit me quite as hard as that but it is very consistently high quality, I'll be coming back to relisten to almost all of the other songs (the only ones that didn't really stand out much to me were 'Terrible Thing' and 'Desperate Things', although I've seen a lot of praise online for the latter and I think it may have been a victim to me not really paying as much attention to lyrics as I probably should when listening to albums oops). I've never really got the hype behind Phoebe Bridgers but 'Runaway Horses' is a beautiful song and possibly my 2nd fave on the album overall (reminded me a little of 'I Will Follow You Into The Dark' by Death Cab For Cutie), not that that has much to do with Phoebe since she's just a glorified background vocalist lmao but still nice to be behind a song that has her name attached to it for once. 'In The Car Outside', 'Quiet Town' and 'Sleepwalker' completing my top 5 faves on first listen I think but very subject to change as I did think the other songs I haven't mentioned in this post all sounded like potential growers.

I think the interview clips are quite charming, can see why they released a version of the album without them but I'm glad I listened to the version that kept them in.

‘In Another Life’ was added to the Radio 2 playlist last week and is the next single from the album.

You say ‘next’… has there been an actual single yet? R2 certainly haven’t playlisted anything before and I think Radio X, absolute etc have just been choosing to play ‘In The Car Outside’ without it being a single.

I’m not sure but I have playlisted ‘Quiet Town’ in my own list so that’s my designated first single 😁
"Quiet Town" was pushed to radio as a single in the US, so I assume this is the reason why it was mentioned that "In Another Life" was the next single off the album.

I heard Quiet Town wasn’t pushed and was played a bit spontaneously and then more Triple A stations took it on. But who knows! My theory is the US label nominated no single so the U.K. label has gotten fed up and gone ahead and sent this to radio! Good choice I think.

New deluxe version out today with new versions of a couple of the tracks on the album.

This new version of ‘The Getting By’ seems to be getting a push as a single and it’s sounding good.
