Oh wow that's amazing for Bicep...! I was thinking they might do similarly to Disclosure's last album maybe but this has quite easily surpassed that - given Disclosure did a little under 10k first week I think that should mean they have a very good shot at a top 2 album this week then? (Although not sure how Bicep's pure sales will compare to Disclosure's so still not holding my breath until seeing some mids).

 

I was trying to find their Spotify history on Kworb but they don't appear in the top 10,000 artists so I don't think there's any way to access their page (/ it might not even exist) - does anyone remember if any of the songs from this album appeared in the top 200 on Spotify before? I don't remember them ever doing so but it's possible the singles may have briefly popped up low down on their release day. I know 'Apricots' has been charting for a while on Apple, was not expecting it to suddenly jump to being around the same position on Spotify! Rooting hard for this to be a top 40 hit for them even though it should be 'Saku' instead etc. etc. *.* if it weren't for the presence of a literal sea shanty in the top 40 last week I'd say that would have to be one of the most unexpected top 40 hits for quite some time. (Happy that 'Saku' has actually made the top 100 as well, and 'Atlas' among their top 3 is great as well, I need to check out the rest of the album).

 

Pretty good first day for Billie & ROSALÍA as well though I'd expect a huge drop tomorrow.
