Absolutely incredible. I put her run in Wimbledon down to having the home crowd on her side and thought it would be about 2 years before she would be a regular contender at other Grand Slams, so fantastic to see her do as well as this, especially given she had to qualify to reach this stage. This should see her firmly into the top 100, with automatic qualification into Grand Slams for the next year.

Agreed it is totally incredible, often the cases with the teenage players is the coaches haven't quite worked out how to beat the player as they don't know enough about them. Massive achievement to her getting this far, I thought the fairytale would end in the QF. She has a real shot at winning the Slam now.

^Apparently from what the commentary was saying, this is going to put her just outside the top 50!

The only one left who's yet to drop a set, I don't want to allow myself to get too excited but it's great to see how she's managed to come from a break down in both of the last two matches, remain calm and then turn it around. Even if the story does end at the semi-final, there's surely a Grand Slam win in her future.

She's got a massive chance of winning this year, if she gets Pliskova is in the semis there's every chance Pliskova will just buckle under the pressure and expectation. Raducanu is as tough as nails.

At present, today's win moves Emma to #51 in the world and the current Britain's womens #1!

Emma Raducanu, blimey. What a tournament this has been for her. She has achieved:

  • the fourth female qualifier to reach any Grand Slam semi-final

the first British woman to reach a US Open semi-final since Jo Durie in 1983

the youngest British woman to reach a Grand Slam semi-final for 46 years

Alexander Zverev moved into the US Open semi-finals with a straight-set victory over South African Lloyd Harris.

German fourth seed Zverev, 24, won 7-6 (8-6) 6-3 6-4 in just over two hours.

another piss-poor performance from Pliskova so Sakkari is in the semis

Djokovic too

Hopefully we get a Fernandez vs Raducanu finale!

Halfway there!

Get it done quickly Emma, something like the third round would be nice as it's a very late night already for some of us..

crazy to have the 2 youngsters in the final!

too bad I missed both matches, hate the schedule in the US Open, it's nearly impossible for us in Europe to watch it live

you can watch most of week 1 but when the semis start, it's too late to watch

Blimey!!! The first British woman to reach a Grand Slam final since Virginia Wade in 1977. This has been one of the most remarkable runs to a final in sport for a long time. The final is 9pm British time on Saturday.

The last time two teenagers were in a final- Serena Williams v Martina Hingis- US Open 1999

Crazy stuff - should be some match up in the final too. Very hard to call that one, Fernandez has had the harder route to the final and beaten a higher calibre of players bur Radacanu just looks in stupendous form and looks a cut above mustard physically.

Going to miss the final too as I'm out, but a wonderful achievement for Modern Britain. And we have a new tennis star for sure!

Absolutely class, fair play. The most impressive thing is just how bang average she's made all of her opponents look! Sheer talent, sometimes that's all it takes sans any sort of experience.

Once again, this tourno has made a mockery of the seeds. Anyone know what time the match will be on Saturday?

The BBC will show highlights of British teenager Emma Raducanu's history-making US Open final against Leylah Fernandez on network television.

The match, which is due to start at 21:00 BST on Saturday, 11 September, will be live on BBC Radio 5 Live, with video clips of the match available afterwards on the BBC Sport website and app.

On Sunday afternoon the BBC will broadcast an hour-long highlights programme of the final on network TV. Exact transmission details are to be confirmed.

I watched it this morning. Another great performance. She has such a good all round game. Her volleying and serves are so well developed for someone so young.
The first qualifier to ever reach the final at a major!!!!!!!!

What a fantastic result, shades of that night shift in 2012 when I was messaging my brother at 3 am and trying to keep him awake to see Andy Murray win his first Grand Slam.

This made me laugh though:
