Kaz was the last girl to be paired up. She basically had to default couple up with Toby - who was on the subs bench with Hugo.

 

Hugo picked Sharon out of those who weren’t coupled meaning Toby and Kaz were paired up.

 

So short answer is yes

Forgot this started tonight - turned it on during the coupling bit and to be honest everyone just left me a bit cold. It didn't feel interesting and just extremely superficial. I know its love island and all the series are like that, but maybe with the world as it is etc it just feels even more shallow than it did before.

 

I'll probably watch a couple more eps, but I can't see this hooking me again in a big way... but we shall see

I just mean that the guys are more likely to couple up with someone who’s shown interest to them too! I think only Aaron chose someone who didn’t step forward for him.

They did a few years ago when Mike and Sam were voted back into the villa... although that was back in Series 3.

 

Haven't watched anymore than the first ep.... I can't muster the enthusiasm

Shannon was absolutely unreal. I can only guess that either they bring her back later or they were worried that she was going to be so picky that they cut their losses with her. Mad decision really as she’s the one girl in the Villa who the guys would always try and go for.

Don't understand why they were all fawning over Chloe. Not my type. There's plenty worse I could say about her too tbh.

Rachel the new girl that just came in is STUNNING :wub: hopefully her personality is good as well .

So I binged the whole of the first week today (yes, I had nothing better to do).

 

It wasn't as awful as I was expecting it to be. I think a bit like the Circle, the worst episode is always the first one. Everything's calmed down a bit now and quite like a number of them in there. Kaz is great and Sharon grew on me the more I saw her. Faye grew on me from initially not really liking her - but she is complete Shaughna vibes. Chloe too isn't that bad and has settled in.

 

Guy wise, possibly not as many stand outs as the women. Hugo is a nice bloke, but I can see him being forever friend-zoned. Toby is ok, although I'm not entirely convinced he's into Kaz. Liam has to the oldest looking 21 year old on the planet. Aaron is ok as is Jake.

 

However.... Brad has to go this evening though - possibly the dullest person to ever be on a reality tv programme. A complete personality free zone.

After a slow start things are now picking up. Have to say I quite like Kaz, Rachel and Liberty from the girls so far. I find Faye and Sharon just rude and so unappealing tbh. Liking Jake, Hugo, Aaron and Toby from the guys. I think Hugo is this years “nice guy” who will be friends only with the girls. I am not convinced Toby is into Kaz at all, I think he just wants to be there. Jake I’m not convinced is 100% into Liberty either but need to wait and see what other girls get put in to take his fancy. I agree that Brad is just dull. Great to look at but he has no personality at all!

I've found this the dullest series yet and I've found it really difficult to get in to and nobody that likeable. I get the whole diversity piece, but they made a mistake with the original castings and booted Shannon out for no reason. It just leads to friendzoned couples and couples who are so one-sided and obviously gonna get dumped at the first test (Brad & Rachel, Jake & Liberty).

 

I've really warmed to a couple of the cast now, but you've got a complete wet lettuce in Hugo whose always gonna struggle to couple up with someone. Hoping it starts to kick off now when the boys end up coupling up on Thursday/Friday.

I'm about a week behind - I watch an episode earlier this evening... but I just couldn't muster the energy to watch another ep :lol:

 

I decided to start re-watching Drag Race UK Series 2 instead

Wow. I don't think I've ever seen the Love Island thread this dead. I guess you guys aren't enjoying this? I'm feeling the same way.

 

Definitely the worst series I've watched, I don't know if it's because the formula is a bit stale now of if it's the casting. I watch the show because it's trashy and completely detached from real life, but the casting directors are picking too wide an age range of people, AJ looks about 40 for example. They're missing a really firey or explosive character in there and they haven't got a couple that's really likeable yet, because they've got too diverse with the casting.

Faye is carrying the series on her back so far tbh . I love her , Kaz , and Liberty. The rest are currently either dull or irritating in some way . The Men in particular are so dry and don’t have much to them at all .
