Seconds of posting this between us both!

Great minds

Have to say it’s strange they’re releasing an acoustic with GRACEY, was she involved in the writing process or something?

I would have liked GRACEY to be a main artist to feature on the radio edit of a single, given the success of Don’t Need Love last year, I was hoping she might be a future name to watch for. I hope she is at least on an album track for Clean Bandit when it gets released.

Perhaps Gracey was who Clean Bandit wanted on the track before the label saw Mood at #1 and forced them into having Iann Dior on it instead seeing as they'd already used 24kGoldn for their last hit. Of course that didn't turn out as such a good idea as the song would've probably done better with a better singing vocalist like Gracey rather than a melodic rapper trying to do a sing song.

Clean Bandit were infamously victim to this at least once before with Ina Wroldsen being forced-replaced by Anne-Marie for Rockabye so it could've happened.

crazy that a band as big as Clean Bandit does not appear to have to power to decide who features on their songs and is instead dictated by the label :/

The acoustic version is significantly better, both in terms of production and Gracey suits the song way more than Iann Dior, who sounds a bit whiney on it. Also nice not to have that 2016 Spotify filler drop on the track.

There is definitely a good song in here, it’s just that the radio version is too overproduced and the original singer isn’t right for the song.

Agreed the acoustic sounds so much better! Obviously they wouldn't release a song that low-key in sound but shows the female vocals and rapper combination could've worked again for them! I presume Gracey was included in the making of the track so why not have two names on there instead of one for the exposure? I'm glad the original has flopped and will show the label they can't just put anything out with a 'big' name to get a hit.
The fact that they apparently thought iann dior would be a name that would sell the song is kind of laughable.

I can't believe how hard this tanked... 66 peak on the UK charts and now it's not even in the top 100 :heehee:

Hopefully they've learnt their lesson and the next single (which needs to hurry ASAP) isn't so bland.

I’m not surprised really. I like the song but it’s deffo more of an album track than a single.

I remember them saying in a live stream that the album is out this autumn so I think the next single should come early summer and then another one just before the album release which I’m guessing will be in November again.

I’m surprised it’s performed so poorly. They used to be such a big chart force
