I only say it because series 1 to 4 had 8 episodes each and series 5 had 3. You don't normally reduce a successful series episodes though maybe it was covid related? They would've just not bothered to film the series if it was unprofitable/a bomb. They likely just did three episodes due to co-vid + them planning to air it over Christmas either way.

If they had signed a 5 year (or 3 year after the 2nd series etc) deal then it could easily have been to get the contract done. I don't know either way but reducing episode of a series is normally always a sign of losing faith or burning through a contract cheaply. X factors last few years they did shortened series, double elimination, celeb, band, quick versions to fulfil the contract of so many series.

Just like standard recording contracts, the TV station is not obliged to produce another series even if a long term contract was signed. They just have the option. January 24, 20223 yr Ronan Keating is replacing because filming takes place during her UK tour. Is the show still going ahead? There is a HUGE #metoo scandal going on here in The Netherlands, with multiple judges, directors and other people working on the show being accused of sexually expoliting a lot of contestants, including contestants on The Voice Kids. All the shows have been cancelled for now and since it's a Dutch concept, I thought they would maybe do the same thing for other versions.

ITV is also making the Dutch show and they are getting heavily accused of knowing about everything and not doing anything to stop it happening.
