Saturday at 22:051 day This one counts as one of my grails for sure, although I'm not sure whether anyone else would be interested in him or not. I got into Susumu Yokota back around the turn of the century when the 'Sakura' album got some critical acclaim, over the following years I bought about 10 of his albums on CD and really enjoyed them as relaxing late night listens. They've always been quite difficult to track down but now two boxsets are being released to cover all of the Japanese artist's work up until his untimely death 10 years ago. They're a bit pricey I guess but I've hardly been buying many albums at all of late so I've decided to treat myself to the first one as it contains a few of my favourites in one place, namely 'Sakura', 'Grinning Cat', 'Will' and 'The Boy and the Tree'. I haven't heard the other albums included before so looking forward to being able to give them all a spin.
