Top 3 next week then number 1 the week after.

Impossible. Good 4 u is too strong on streaming and then Ed Sheeran will take this number one for many weeks.

5 on Amazon UK now. It's soaring.

Wouldn't be surprised if this Ed single underperforms. It happens at some point for everyone.

Let's manifest good 4 u suddenly going on ACR and disappearing and LM stealing Number 1 from Ed again :P

Afterglow flopped though (sorta), what's to say this song won't either? the quality of Ed's work doesn't really swing wildly from amazing to bad- so I can't imagine its quality will be different from Afterglow.

I'm not gonna say yes they'll definitely beat him, but I think they could battle for #1 as they're slowly gaining all the streaming metrics on their side whilst it may take a while for Ed to catch up.

I dunno how well Good 4 u is doing on platforms other than Spotify/Apple but I imagine that's their competition

I'll admit it's extremely unlikely to happen but Sweet Melody went to number 1 after like, 8 weeks did it not? This is only in it's fourth chart week - if it goes top 3 on Amazon, hits number 1 on Apple and manages to sneak top 5 on Spotify combined with a huge surge of iTunes downloads again by the Mixers (and Good 4 U hitting ACR?) it could happen.

Of course Ed is also a huge threat too I guess. :/

I really hope they pre-recorded a performance at the same time they did the Confetti one that they can release on a week that will be their best chance of a Number 1 - yes i'm in a dream world!

But I would find it strange if they didn't film a HA performance at the same time as the Confetti one.

Ed Sheeran’s new single is going to get a gigantic push as it’s the lead single from the album, it will be #1 on every playlist possible.

I don’t think heartbreak will go to #1 or even #2 but even a top five four peak is absolutely incredible.

Yeah honestly Ed’s new single is going to get a HUGE push. You can tell straight away it’s had a big budget.

Plus, There’s a CD single...

Afterglow underperformed because it had zero push and was basically just dropped at Christmas.

and let's be honest, the song was crap. His new single however sounds very promising.

Definitely!

I really hope he doesn’t completely dominate though, As much as I adore Good 4 U it does get a little stale when it sits at the top for long.

Anything could happen. I anticipate it having legs over the summer, I wouldn't even be surprised if no time for tears makes a reappearance in the top 40, both that and Heartbreak Anthem are prime Love Island VT material. Hopefully Ed's song is crap and Olivia hits ACR soon. No one thought Sweet Melody would get number 1 at the beginning

But the way life happens, such sweet melody miracle repeating within a space of 7 months for same artiste is a stretch. Yes it's possible, but not that likely.

Even if Ed's song is crap, I've seen crap songs dominate the charts. And tbh, crap is relative. Different songs appeal to different people.

Of course I'd love HA to go number 1. But a top 3 or even top 5 is huge! Putting it in perspective, we are talking three top 10s within 6 months. Never happened to Little Mix before, maybe 2017 with SOTME, touch and power - but they weren't consecutive singles.. And Touch (my 2nd favourite after sweet melody) peaked at #4.

It’s a bit of a shame that Maneskin looks like it could climb ahead of HA in the coming weeks.

I’d love this to go top 3 but I guess it’s just whether SZA and The Weekend hit ACR before HA does.
