No surprise it flopped! Shoulda listened!

Only If For (A Night) now!!! Or Lover to Lover or Grace as less good options.

ROUND 6 RESULTS: 07 20 Florence + The Machine - Queen of Peace

The Queen of Peace absolutely deserved better as it is absolute perfection but I’m pleased to continue staying in the top half, especially when it was against some recognisable big hits! No regrets in sending as I’d have a lot more if I hadn’t had the chance to send one of her very best (and it won her rate a few years back!!).

The next round is Should Have Been a Single

There’s an album track I’ve been saving this round which is why it hasn’t been a contender for the other two! I think Howl is possibly her most recognisable album track, and a popular one at that?

I think it was the Long & Lost side of the Double A side that let it down -_-

Lover to Lover was a single :frankie:

Howl is great! Wiki also lists 'What The Water Gave Me' as a promo single which is an excellent song also! Plus charted top 40 so might be known a bit better?

I feel Howl is more in the spirit of the round given What the Water Gave Me’s promo status but I like both in equal amounts! Think it would be between those two so will be interesting to hear what anyone else thinks.
Water Gave Me, OIFAFN!!!!!!!!, or Grace!!!!!!! If it weren't for the Long & Lost side, ir would've missed the top 10!!! Just like Hollier couksn't have made no.1 without the smaller hit, LLLTW, which gave it a boost.
In the words of Bernie Sanders I am once again asking you to send Howl

I am once again asking you to send OIFTN!!!

Having listened to Howl again, I would vote for it, and probably put it top, but I woildn't be happy about it when you have OIFTN, WTFGM or that other one!!

I was listening to you but I was saving it for this round! It is only now I’m doubting whether to send WTWGM over it :(

Orrrr OIFTN!!!

but pretty sure What the Water Gave Me was single #1 from Ceremonials...

someone must have edited wrong on wiki, everybody can go to wiki and change stuff...

it was not a Grat or a buzz single but a proper release, thats why it charted everywhere

My fav non-single is Seven Devils followed by Only if for the Night

Howl is too similar to the song you're hopefully saving for the final

What the Water Gave Me was definitely classified as a promo single/teaser for the era. Shake It Out was always pushed as the first proper single for the era, hence why it was entered in Round 2.

ROUND 7: Should Have Been a Single

HOWL

if you could only see the beast you've made of me, I held it in but now it seems you've set it running free

The penultimate entry is Howl, a song perfect for Halloween as Florence tells the story of becoming a werewolf. The song starts off with an eerie piano and as the song builds it feels the werewolf has been unleashed and is on the chase, building up to a hectic finale! It's one of the first tastes we got of dramatic Florence and it was one of my first entries into her music as I remember it being heavily used on the Being Human adverts!

You never listen!

...to you because if I did poor Florence would be a flop!

Howl has had the most buzz in this thread :neyde:
