BJSC 185 - KARLEE GIRL - Right Back! After a disappointing result in 184 (breaking my Q streak of 9!), Mothertopia is going back to pure pop…and where better to look than a KATSEYE reject, lol! When I watched the MV for this a couple weeks ago I was instantly hooked by that chorus and the “Back-back-ba-ba-ba-back” with that choreo’d booty dance that goes along with it. Obsessed!

Excited to get listening! Aside from my own I already know the Tiffany Day, Say Now, ILLIT, Cassyette + horsegirl tracks, with ‘Supermarket’ being very popular in our house a few months ago!

lol if I get banned from the competition next month after I purposely voted early to make it easier on myself and the host as I’m on a weekend away and only just popped on to check the forum on the first free second I’ve had. So be it if so, ill live with the consequences but I think it seems a tad extreme when votes were submitted with song title and artist and, while maybe a little inconvenient, the host had multiple days to spend maybe 3 minutes getting the counties from the information on the message.

Hello, I misread this as to include your own country name, rather than the 15 country names you are voting for, as I assumed the difficulty would be in identifying the 56 users who are sending votes without their country identified. So apologies there. However, after recent conversations about countries voting for other countries based on the user/relationships rather than on the quality of the song, I thought I’d formulate my votes purely from the Spotify playlist, rather than from the OP. Also, I’d also sorted all my votes before Rob requested a more user friendly list of entries so it was easy for me to just do Artist/Song this month as it meant I didn’t have to copy and paste from the table on the OP. Sorry!

BJSC 184 - Nichola Holt - The Game - 7” Radio Mix Been trawling through NMFs for the last few weeks trying to find a suitable entry for this month but nothing has jumped out at me so went into the Mothertopia archives and found this deep down in the vault. This absolutely HUGE #72 smash hit from BBUK1 contestant Nichola Holt is actually such a banger and as Mothertopia continues to lean a bit more dancey… this is the perfect fit. I’ve also created a Spotify playlist of all of Mother’s entries so far and included in the opening post of this thread so that I can keep track of how many competitions I’ve taken part in… so if you want to take a trip down Memory lane, the mother way, that’s there too x

Ah this has been so much fun to be a part of, voting every week, deliberating over song choices, and seeing such great reactions and responses to the songs I’ve entered! I’ve been a Florence fan since Lungs first came out (it’s probably my favourite ever album and I actually have a Dog Days Are Over tattoo lol). I think her first 4 albums are all really good and even if I’ve been a bit luke warm on her last two eras, I’ve still been to both of the tours for them as I think her vocals are just so powerful and haunting, and the classics still pop off live. My Florence tattoo: These were my votes for the most recent round so I basically eliminated myself but putting Kelly so high haha, I guess that and maybe song choice this round led to this! Wow another round where I’ll be making a fair few discoveries! That Kelly song was one of my fav songs ever as a teenager, so I’m so glad it’ll get its chance to shine here as I never expected to see it show up in this competition!
