Is there a case for songs that are over 3 years old to not be automatically on ACR if they have never been in the, say, top 40?

There isn't specific criteria for it, it basically is just at the whim of the OCC. Personally I agree with them granting the reset for these old non-hits being revived by TikTok but not Mariah, I feel like they are 2 very different scenarios.
I know it gets mentioned most weeks but the continued longevity of Martin & Gina is very impressive, has it set a record yet for most weeks in the chart without ever being top 50?

It was mentioned earlier in this very thread:

Meanwhile, 'Martin & Gina' is still trucking along - at this stage I am really rooting for it to beat the top 100 weeks record for a non top 50 hit currently held by 'Jumpman' :cheeseblock:

Jumpman had 29 weeks by the way, Martin & Gina is currently on 23 weeks and should easily make it to 26. (Hoping Jumpman keeps it though!)

I mentioned this in an earlier, but Jumpman didn't beat the 32 weeks in the Top 100 of:

45 King - 'The King Is Here' / 'The 900 Number'

from 1989/90, without ever climbing higher than #60!

Oh wow, I hadn't noticed that! :o

I agree it still feels too early, also would be such a shame to see it only peak at #11

It’s actually done very well for a post-album single

Guess that would be more noticeable in December when a lot of Christmas songs from more than 3 years ago which haven't been top 40 hits before but added to festive playlists would push current hits further down the charts. Not sure the OCC would want that.

Yeh albeit most songs that had not charged before now have only Waitresses is one huge Xmas ‘hit’ that has never went top 40 since downloads and streaming and that’s due to a lack of video etc so it’s less of a presence. Maybe it would mean some different Buble tracks would chart in different years.

Oops I must have missed that post as well! Well that's still potentially only one additional ACR swerve away from Polo G's reach :D
