Posted April 2, 20214 yr Inspired by this tweet which really gave me the eebijeebs... @1376221314021789700 Mainly because it's basically the same manouvre that caused Fabio Jakobsen to spend time in an induced coma and have half of his teeth fall out, and the same thing could well have happened here had the barriers been a little less strong. Which immediately brings up two issues - of course organisers need to do as much as possible to avoid any potential injuries (e.g. in cycling making any hazards clear or removing posts etc.) but athletes also need to be more aware of their own safety and others and not just run into rash decisions to try and give themselves some sort of advantage. I'm sure there are a ton of sports where safety is still a critical issue, feel free to discuss what they may be in here.
April 2, 20214 yr Thank goodness there wasn't another similar Fabio Jakobsen incident with this, that is bad.
